I graduated from Indiana University in 2022 with a degree in biology and journalism. While my academic background may seem unrelated to the legal field, this diverse foundation allows me to bring a unique perspective to LSAT tutoring for the Logical Reasoning section. During my LSAT preparation, I encountered the common belief that it is difficult to improve one's score by more than a few points. However, through intensive studying over a few weeks, I surpassed these expectations and achieved significant improvement. This experience has instilled in me the belief that with the right strategies, dedication, and guidance, students can unlock their full potential and achieve remarkable results. I am excited to share these strategies and help students reach their goals.Throughout my LSAT journey, I have explored various learning strategies, both self-taught and in a classroom setting, enabling me to understand what truly works. I have firsthand experience with different study techniques and materials and can tailor my approach to meet the unique needs of each student. I possess a wealth of knowledge and recent LSAT materials since I took the exam only a few months ago. This ensures that I am up to date with the latest test trends and can provide the most relevant and effective guidance to my students.Additionally, I have practical experience in the legal realm through my experience as a legal intern, which has allowed me to apply the logical reasoning and critical reading skills I strengthened while preparing for the LSAT. During my internship, I was exposed to various legal areas, such as family law, immigration, and conveyancing. This firsthand exposure enhanced my ability to connect with aspiring law students and help them grasp the practical applications of the skills they are developing. I can draw upon these experiences to bridge the gap between theory and practice, giving students a deeper understanding of the legal field and motivating them in their LSAT journey.

During my free time, I enjoy playing basketball, watching basketball, and reading about basketball. You can also catch me trying to stay musically inclined, solving a Rubik's Cube, or playing board games. I am passionate about service in various forms, and I wish to pursue a career in medicine in the future. Throughout my academic years, I have engaged myself in varying instructional opportunities, from teaching younger students how to play the harmonium to guiding my peers through various academic subjects. My own academic challenges motivate me to be the most effective tutor I can be and help me guide my students through potential pitfalls along their academic journeys. I strive to create an environment where healthy interaction and communication are fostered, as I believe these are the crucial to the student experience. I tutor AP Psychology, MCAT Physical Sciences, MCAT Biological Sciences, and MCAT Social and Behavioral Sciences. I come from a multi-ethnic family who immigrated to Latin America from the Middle East during the early 1900s with hopes for a better and more comfortable life. They embraced Latino culture, attained fluency in Spanish, and successfully ran their own clothing business. In the mid-1960s, my grandparents immigrated to New York City, learned the English language, and settled in the place of my birth - Brooklyn, New York.In the years of 1998-2002, I have completed a Bachelors of Business Administration with a concentration in Computer Information System at Baruch College, City University of New York. I graduated with Magna Cum Laude Honors, a cumulative GPA of 3.5, and as member of the International Golden Key Honors Society. Shortly thereafter, my career transitioned from business to education as I have pursued further studies in teaching. After having completed an array of graduate level pedagogical courses with the College of New Rochelle, Fordham University, Brooklyn College, and the College of Mount Saint Vincent, I successfully passed the following teacher's New York State teacher certification exams:Liberal Arts and Science Test (LAST)Assessment of Teaching Skills-Written (ATS-W, Secondary)English Content Specialty Test (CST)Multi-Subject CSTEnglish to Speakers of Other Languages CST (ESOL)Literacy CSTStudents with Disabilities CSTMy first teaching experience began in the Fall of 2002. I taught English Language Arts and Literature to junior and high school students. During my teaching experience, I managed with excellent results, an intensive and cohesive workload of teaching based on NYS Standards. I prepared multilingual students for both the ELA and SS New York State exam. Majority of my students scored on or above state standards for their grade level, which is a great accomplishment considering that English is their second language. I directed, supervised, and taught, a research paper composition/computer technology class, in an intensive science research program for exceptionally talented students of grades 6 through 8. Integrating technology into classroom teaching has motivated my students to become high achievers as their diverse learning styles and needs continue to be met.In 2010, I completed a Master of Science in education with a concentration in TESOL at the College of New Rochelle and took several professional development courses and workshops to enhance my knowledge and skills in the field of education. From 2014-2016, I was a full-time high school ENL teacher and coordinator at New Visions AMS III High School and part time adjunct professor of ENL and English at the Union County College.I believe that my greatest strength as a teacher is my ability to inspire students to use their talents and resources available to them to expand their horizons and achieve their goals and aspirations. Many students who started out with a negative attitude towards learning were able to transcend their prior indifferences and develop the strong study skills and self-confidence needed to perform beyond their expectations. Moreover, by recognizing the diversity of linguistic backgrounds and cultures which characterize the students and their families, I was able to design lessons from all content areas to build cultural awareness and appreciation throughout the curriculum. I was able to utilize my knowledge, skills, and cultural sensitivities that are all crucial to meeting the needs of students, and especially those whose primary language is other than English. Throughout my many years of teaching, I have worked largely with students from diverse cultural, ethnic, and linguistic backgrounds. Through teaching, I have developed a profound love and appreciation for the children of my community. As I interacted with the students, I began to realize how deprived most of them were of a real and fair education. I dedicated my career to enriching these students' lives with the fundamentals necessary to help them become self-sufficient and independent learners and contributors to society. By recognizing the diversity of linguistic backgrounds and cultures which characterize students and their families, I was able to design lessons from all content areas to build cultural awareness and appreciation throughout the curriculum. I was able to utilize my knowledge, skills, and cultural sensitivities to meet the needs of students whose primary language was other than English. As an instructor, I always strive to benefit my students by helping them achieve the knowledge and skills needed in order to reach their highest aspirations.

My name is Tiffany and I am currently a nursing student at Galen College of Nursing. I previously received a Biology Degree from Indiana University in 2004. I am really excited to be back to school again and I'm looking forward to the future. I have previously worked as a substitute teacher for elementary, middle and high school. I also have two children, one in 3rd grade and one in 5th grade. I feel like this makes me able to communicate well with kids. It has also helped me be aware of some of the new teaching strategies. I have tutored some of my fellow nursing students the past year. My strong suits are math and science, especially medical based science like anatomy and physiology. My psychology for tutoring is that everyone learns differently. Generally you just need to discover what strategies help you learn the best and build on that. I look forward to working with you.

My approach to teaching is very patient and practical, given that I want my students to know how to handle everyday situations. I want my students to feel very positive about their learning experience and to know that errors are just a part of the learning experience. I have a lot of experience and can find easier ways for a student to understand difficult concepts. My students find me very kind and compassionate with a willingness to "meet them where they are" in order to give them the best opportunity to read, write and speak the language.
