I am a bioengineer who has experience working in the biotech startup industry. I received my Master of Science in Engineering in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh. While at the University of Pittsburgh, I started to tutor my fellow peers in Engineering Physics I: Mechanics and Engineering Physics 2: Electricity & Magnetism, and it was then that I discovered my passion for tutoring. Seeing a student not only understand physics, but actually enjoy learning about it was easily the most rewarding aspect of tutoring. Their enjoyment led to success and further study of the material, and I was very happy to have contributed to that. From my experiences, I observed that a teaching philosophy based on constant questioning, student participation, and interdisciplinary learning provided the greatest enjoyment and success for students. Relating the material in a manner which the student understands has always been a priority of mine, and combining this approach with a logical, building-block type style has yielded strong results for me and the student. While I do tutor mathematics, usually ranging from Calculus I all the way to Differential Equations, I am most passionate about teaching physics. It is rewarding to see how a student who learns physics understands and appreciates the world around them on a deeper level. In the end, I wish to help students not only learn physics, but also enjoy learning physics, and I hope to spread this appreciation to all my students. Outside of work, I greatly enjoy going to museums, playing and watching all kinds of sports, hiking and other outdoor activities, reading philosophy, and playing guitar.

I've worked at The White House, on Wall Street, and run my own tech start-up for 3 years, and I will help you achieve your goals!I overcame a significant learning disability to graduate high school at 16, publish original scientific research in major international journals, and went on to graduate from Oxford University, the London School of Economics, and Rice University. My original writing has been published in The Guardian and Le Monde, two of the largest newspapers in the United Kingdom and France, respectively.I have 10+ years of experience teaching higher mathematics, computer science, and the SAT, ACT, GMAT, GRE, SAT II, IB, and AP exams (including SAT Math IIC, AP Calculus, AP Computer Science, AP Biology, AP U.S. and European History, AP Art History, and a wide variety of other fields).I've made perfect or near perfect scores on every standardized test I teach, beginning from when I made perfect scores on SAT I Writing, Verbal, SAT II Math IIC when I was 15.It is not at all uncommon for my students to achieve scores like these, increasing by 10 percentile points or more after only a few lessons. My approach is the opposite of "one-size-fits-all."We will develop a customized syllabus together after your first diagnostic test, and I will be data-driven in pursuit of improving your score until we achieve your goals. Fully over 90% of the students I've taught have gained admission to their top choice schools, graduate school, or one of the most selective universities in the US.Outside of this work, I have also been fortunate to start a tech company, intern for The White House Chief of Staff when President Obama was first elected, and work in medical research, where I've also been fortunate to publish peer-reviewed articles on predicting Diabetes-risk in young children.Let me know how I can help you achieve your ambitions, higher education-related or otherwise. I'm excited to work with you.

I recently graduated from the Johns Hopkins University with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering. My second major was Computer Science and my minor was Applied Mathematics and Statistics. Throughout my education, I have often felt that instructors explained the concepts at too high a level because they already understood them well. This can lead students to think they are not talented at a subject when in reality they just need more in-depth explanations. I believe that, given this support, all students can succeed, even in subjects that they may initially struggle in. In my classes, I would naturally explain practice questions to my peers because I learned by teaching. One of my professors noticed this and invited me to become a teaching assistant for Linear Algebra and Differential Equations, which I have taught on and off for the past four years and I have also taught Probability and Statistics once. Prior to college, I tutored students in calculus and Spanish. Currently, I tutor primarily in STEM subjects and Spanish. In particular, math and computer programming are some of my favorite subjects to tutor because they were the subjects that I was most challenged in and I know the work it takes to gain proficiency in this kind of material. My approach centers on breaking down big concepts into smaller, related concepts. I believe that each student should not simply memorize a certain result but rather understand how that result comes about. To that end, I ensure that students not only get the correct answer, but fully understand the reasoning needed to derive that answer. In the future, I hope to pursue a career as a physician-scientist. This fall I will be pursuing a Fulbright grant at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems to research sign language recognition using haptics and machine learning. In my spare time, I crochet, knit, play video games, read, watch birds, and try to improve my fitness with high-intensity interval training.

I believe that the world is made of Mathematics. Everything in the world can be represented in Mathematical form. My studies in Mathematics at O level and A level have supported my interest in this subject and have shown me a broad new world of Mathematics. In particular, I enjoyed studying calculus and coordinate geometry. It motivated me to follow B.Sc., a special degree (4 years) in Mathematics and this course brought to a dreaming world. I enjoyed many subjects, for example, functional analysis, real analysis, numerical analysis, group theory, discrete mathematics, general relativity, tensor calculus, differential equation, vector space, etc. It contributed me to think rationally (it's a good exercise for the brain) and created many changes in my real life. I was excited to find that Mathematical techniques could be used to solve real life problems. In addition to retaining a strong interest in Mathematics, and my postgraduate degree in Industrial Mathematics offered me how to use mathematical techniques to solve industrial problems. This program offered 27 advanced Mathematics courses which focused applying mathematics, computer science, and statistics, and management courses for solving industrial problems. I enjoyed many subjects on this program. In particular, Finite element Technique for solving Partial Differential Equations, Operations Research, Matrix Algebra, Mathematical Methods, Econometrics, C++ programming etc. The program impressed me to expand my studies to engineering domain. During that time, I worked as a faculty in Applied Science School which offered BSc degree in Mathematics and computing and I taught undergraduate students in this school for 18 years, and I was attracted to my fascination for computers has also grown. It was easy to use and quite interesting to find out that programming language is an algorithm designed for computers to carry tasks quickly. The joint course was really interesting. I realized that there are no computers without Mathematics. I understood what computer science consists of and its importance in our fast developing world. I decided to follow my Ph.D. degree in Computing and my thesis introduces a novel algorithm for flexible mesh generator. I certainly sure, it was possible as I had been trained my brain to think mathematically or logically. I am being helped so many ways in my academic career. For example, I can develop any mathematics theorem/results into the algorithmic format and write relevant graphics programming coding (C++/Matlab) for visualizing the result. Anyone can enjoy with this as the visual representation is easy to understand the complex mathematics concepts. The knowledge in Mathematics and Computing gives me a broad range of skills and expertise which I use to solve multifaceted problems. It is true that having a Joint Honors Degree in Mathematics and Computing gives me transferable skills which I could use in a variety of careers. I am proud of my achievements and am open minded. I intend to approach the future positively. I will encounter new opportunities, make new friends and continue to my academic career!

I graduated a Dean's Scholar from Clarkson University in May of 2013 with a double major in Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering and two minors in Mathematics and Business. As leader of my aircraft senior design team, aerodynamics design team, and propulsion design team for the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, I have had a great deal of experience in teaching others. I've dealt with mathematics and physics at all levels, ranging in math from algebra and trigonometry to calculus, differential equations, and linear algebra and in physics from projectile motion to fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and aerodynamics. As leader of several design teams, it was my responsibility to assign tasks to each team member to make sure we produced the most innovative, cost effective, and time efficient design possible. Getting to know the members of the team, it was clear that not everyone was always on the same page. To be a successful team, I knew that we all needed to understand exactly what we needed to do. So, on several occasions, I created brief PowerPoints of the applicable concepts to see where we needed the most work. I printed out relevant text and any sample problems I could find to aid in my teams understanding of the design criteria until we were all comfortable enough to proceed.Currently, I am employed as a consulting engineer for an engineering firm in Suffolk County, NY. Here, my work varies from preparing estimates to designing traffic signals and roadways and performing construction inspection. In my spare time, I enjoy running, playing racquetball, volleyball, soccer, and volunteering at local ministries and outreach events. As a prospective client, I'd ask that you keep the following in mind: I tutor because I have a commitment to life-long learning. I tutor because I hope that I may be able to help students enjoy learning as much as I do. I believe that the student who is willing to learn is the student who will take the most from what life has to offer. All I ask of you is for your respect and for your effort. With a bit of hard work, I know we will make a difference in what ever we set our minds too!

To me, teaching provides an opportunity to motivate students to like the subject and to improve their performance through mentoring/advising. This is what inspired me to choose teaching as a career. What a nobler mission than being part of sustaining knowledge from one generation to the next!?I am a graduate of Alexandria University, with a B.Sc. in Nuclear Engineering. In addition, I received a Ph.D. degree from University at Buffalo, Chemical and Biological Engineering Department, in 2015. During that time, I have been working as a teaching assistant and a co-instructor for both undergrad and graduate students, for a broad range of subjects; including: applied mathematics, physics, chemistry, mechanics, and programming. In addition, as a part-time, I have been a private tutor for middle- and high-school students for over 5 years.Although I can tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about teaching: Calculus, Algebra, Linear Algebra, Physics, and Mechanics for all ages and to all levels. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, running, and tutoring my kids!

I am a research scientist, with a focus in theoretical physics and turning things invisible. I've taught math and science to students at all levels, from middle school to graduate students, with a focus on universally accessible, engaging presentations. If students are bored or confused it means I'm not doing my job, so I try to foster a conversational teaching style. My background - undergrad: applied physics at Cornell University, PhD: theoretical physics at MIT, postdoc: research scientist at University of Colorado Boulder - has given me insight into tricks and shortcuts to double check for common mistakes or help students solve problems even if they get stuck. When I'm not teaching or working on research I learn new languages, hike, and fall down internet rabbit holes

I have a long-standing passion for tutoring because I want to help other people come to understand the subjects I've loved since I was a kid. I greatly enjoy helping people become proficient in these subjects and seeing the light of understanding suddenly turn on. As a result, I tutored multiple hours every week during my time at the University of North Texas, and I relished the opportunity to be a teaching assistant during my time at Vanderbilt University. My educational background enables me to educate in multiple areas of mathematics and physics with great proficiency. I graduated Magna Cum Laude as a Distinguished Honors Scholar with a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from the University of North Texas in 2013, and graduated with a Master of Arts in physics from Fisk University two years later. More recently I attained my childhood dream of a Doctorate of Philosophy in biomedical engineering from Vanderbilt University. Because of my education, I am comfortable tutoring math subjects up to multivariable calculus and differential equations, as well as college physics.I love both math and physics, although I enjoy teaching calculus and calculus-based physics the most. Calculus is such an elegant subject, and opens a whole new world to students. Applying calculus to physics enables students to see the beauty of physics. I fell in love with physics in high school, but it wasn't until I took calculus-based physics that the elegance of the field hit home for me. I strongly believe that the goal of teaching and tutoring should be to give students the tools to educate and think critically for themselves. As a tutor, my goal is to complement the teaching students are receiving elsewhere and fill gaps in students' understanding of the subject. In the end, my goal is to enable my students to progress and succeed without my help.Of course, everyone has interests outside of the subjects they're teaching or studying. I love spending time with my wife and two young boys. I also love reading, particularly science fiction and fantasy, and I love playing tabletop roleplaying games.

Tutoring represents the opportunity to work closely with a student in particular subjects I am passionate about. As a chemical engineering student at Vanderbilt University, I have always been passionate about learning math and science. I have also particularly excelled in these fields, perhaps due to my passion, and I managed to score a 790 on the math SAT and SAT II. I also took 5 AP Exams as a high school student, receiving 5s in Calculus BS, statistics, computer science, biology, and chemistry. At my university, I received an honors scholarship for my academic performance in engineering, and I currently aspire to continue my education at a higher level. As a tutor, I will motivate students, set clear goals, and help students progress towards a higher level of understanding.
