I am from the great city of Austin, Texas, and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Before attending UNTHSC, I worked as a Certified Dermatology Tech as part of Dr. Bryan Townsends' Mohs Surgery Team, while waiting tables at Matt's El Rancho and Chuy's Tex-Mex restaurants. I will be attending TCOM next year. As a CAP tutor and fellow classmate, I hope to promote a collaborative and supportive environment for students in all programs at UNTHSC. I am excited for the opportunity to meet and connect with students on the Varsity system, vowing to do my best to ensure a higher level of content understanding and serve as a positive and motivational force for students.

I am a student at the University of Michigan studying business and engineering. In high school, I ran a private violin lessons business where I taught young kids aged 5-11. From there, I began to volunteer my time and tutor high school kids in math and science. I cherish these experiences and want to continue to tutor in college. There is nothing more enjoyable than seeing my students improve and do things they originally believed they couldn't.As someone who has worked with numerous kids in the past, I also understand how important it is for students/parents to know that they are working with someone they can trust. I take this trust very seriously and continuously work to improve my methods and strategies. My goals as a tutor is to not only improve the scores of my students, but teach them how to think critically about the problems they receive. This way, my students can not only solve the problem at hand, but also develop the skills to solve similar problems in the future.I scored a composite 36 on ACT, with a 36 in the Mathematics section. I scored a 1550 on the SAT with a 800/800 on the Math section and a perfect Math score on the PSAT as well. I have earned an A in Calculus 1 through Calculus 3 and have also taken Differential Equations(sometimes referred to as Calculus 4).I have taken AP Chemistry, AP Physics C: Mechanics, and AP Physics: Electricity and Magnetism, AP Calculus, earning a 5 on all of those AP exams.If you are looking for a great math and science tutor please contact me!

I recently graduated with a Ph.D. in Physics from the Joint Quantum Institute (JQI, a research partnership between the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the Physics Department of the University of Maryland), and am currently working as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the institute. My research specialization has been on experimental quantum and nonlinear optics in the Laser Cooling and Trapping Group led by Dr. William D. Phillips (1997 Nobel Prize in Physics) at NIST.I am always passionate about tutoring high school and college students on the subject of physics. I believe by doing this, I am not only helping them meet their academic goals but also cultivate the next generation to feel passionate about physics as well. I believe my solid background as a physicist and my extensive experience on mentoring undergraduate and early-stage graduate students would make me a great fit to the job.

I am a graduate of the University of Missouri and received my Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering, with a Business minor. I have a wide range of tutoring experiences in many subjects, but my strengths lie in mathematics, science, and ACT test prep areas. Having struggled myself the first time I took standardized tests, I understand that even with a solid knowledge foundation tests like the ACT require a substantial amount of exam specific preparation. While my engineering background provides me the opportunity to tutor more advanced math, science, and engineering subjects, I enjoy helping students of all ages and ability levels learn. In my free time, I love to play sports, ski and travel and have been to many countries including Peru, Bolivia, Colombia, Argentina, France, Greece, and more.
