Gi young: Oregon tutor
Certified Tutor
I am an undergraduate student of Columbia University's School of General Studies, majoring in mathematics and will be graduating in May of 2018.
Before transferring to Columbia, I worked as a tutor for high school students in northern Virginia for more than 2 years, specializing in math and SAT prep. I have also worked with students on history, science, and essay writing.
My tutoring style is geared towards understanding the abstract components of the material at hand, where focus is put not only on what the material is and how to work with the material, but rather on how it all fits together with previous (or those soon-to-come) concepts and why the material matters. I believe this not only helps the student understand the specific materials, but develop critical thinking skills and conceptual context for the student to excel in other areas of learning as well.
