For as long as I can remember, I've always loved math. Two years ago, I went back to school and began my journey towards becoming a Chemical Engineer. I have started out at Community College of Allegheny County and plan to finish my degree at the University of Pittsburgh. While at CCAC, I began to tutor students and developed a passion for it, particularly when it comes to mathematics. Exploring the language of mathematics can be incredibly fun, challenging and rewarding, this is something I always try to impart on anyone I may help. While I'm not studying you'll find me reading for pleasure or outdoors engaging in one of many activities.

I am a college sophomore at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. I'm studying Communications, am heavily involved in Greek Life here at the U, and am in Air Force ROTC pursing a commission as an Air Force pilot once I graduate!In my free time I enjoy playing soccer, flying airplanes (I got my pilot's license at 16), and socializing with my friends at college.

I spent my entire life either in Philadelphia or close to the Philadelphia metropolitan area. I went to school at Villanova University where I studied Civil Engineering and graduated with a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering. I am currently working in Philadelphia's Old City where I am a Civil Engineer Airport Designer.Through Villanova's Engineering Program I was constantly challenged and had to devise strategies in order to help me retain the required information and develop my test taking skills. I use these skills to this day when I take state certification and licensing exams. I learned these techniques through trial and error and know that they will be of use to everyone. I have learned that tutoring is a two-way street. The students learn about the subject material and the tutor learns about the most effective way to communicate with them. From the time I was in elementary school I have participated in tutoring, test prep, academic counseling, and other activities. My strongest areas include: Writing, all levels of English Language and Literature, History, and all elementary and junior high level education. I am a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College and San Diego State University, and possess degrees in English and Creative Writing. In the fall of 2012 I moved to Fort Worth, where I am currently pursuing my PhD in American Literature, in addition to tutoring for Varsity.

Currently, I am a fourth year Medical Student in the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at CCNY. This is a seven year BS/MD program, so by the end of the seven years, I will have achieved both degrees. I have a lot of tutoring experience in the K-12 age especially in the 7-12 grade range. I have taught SAT, SHSAT, ACT, SAT subject tests and Regents exams as well. My favorite subject to tutor is math and biology, but I am able to tutor other subject areas like reading, writing, chemistry, and physics. My tutoring style is very student oriented with some lecturing. I make sure that most of the time I am asking questions, even if it is basic, just to get the student to always be on his/her feet. I also make sure to use a lot of diagrams and flow charts when teaching. Outside of school, I spend a lot of time exploring and doing photography. I also love listening to music, watching basketball, and spending time with friends and family.

My name is Sarah Johnson and I am a third year medical student and substitute teacher looking to help all students achieve their academic goals. I have passed the new USMLE Step 1 and I have multiple tips and tricks to make sure you can pass your NBME/Step 1/ and medical school courses. I also have experience in Pre-K to highschool common core. I graduated from an IB highschool so I am familiar with the IB curriculum as well. My tutoring focuses on your weaknesses and we will work together to come up with a personalized plan for success.
