My first big win was helping one student push up his ranking in just one month from 419th to 200th in a class of 420, and there have been many more successes since then. I've also taught marketing at a college in Korea and tutored Accounting, Microeconomics and Operations while getting my MBA at Northwestern University, one of the prestigious M7 programs. I know firsthand how much effort it takes to succeed. I earned a 1520 SAT, 33 ACT, and a 4.0 GPA before graduating with a Bachelor's in Finance and a minor in Political Science from BYU. With over two years of tutoring experience, I've helped students of all ages, from elementary kids learning to read, to high schoolers preparing for the SAT/ACT, to college students mastering finance. My approach is simple: I build trust with each student, identify their strengths and weaknesses, and create a plan that builds both skill and confidence. By that same token, if a student can't explain a concept back to me, then they don't understand it even if they say they do. I graduated from Tufts University with a double major in Mathematics and Psychology. Subsequently I earned Masters degrees in Education ( Stanford), Accounting/MBA ( Northeastern) and Finance ( George Washington). I earned my Credential to teach Mathematics and Psychology in California, and taught high school in San Jose. I also taught Math at Tabor Academy and at Avery Coonley School. I left teaching full time and now work for the US Government working on accounting and Finance Systems. I am an expert skier and teach skiing during the winter months. I missed teaching so I currently tutor students in all levels of Math and love it! The joy of helping individual students understand a concept and succeed, where they thought they couldn't, is what keeps me tutoring! I enjoy working with all levels of students, working to understand what is/are the concept(s) keeping each one from reaching their potential. I have been a middle school math teacher for 8 years. I graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Secondary Math Education (grades 6-12). I absolutely love helping students with math. It is something I am so passionate about and love finding new ways to make concepts fun and make sense. My favorite test is the LSAT because of its focus on logic and reasoning. Outside of test prep, I am passionate about history and literature.

My individualized tutoring methods also raised my step-son's Physics grade from a C to an A in one semester.
