A little bit about me: I grew up in Connecticut and attended prep schools there before going to College at Harvard where I earned a BA in Political Science. After working for a few years in management consulting, campaigning, and policy work, I went to the Yale School of Management where I earned my MBA. After business school, I worked in finance in NYC at a "bulge-bracket" firm before leaving to pursue entrepreneurial interests in the New York tech scene. Tutoring Background: In college, every weekend, I worked with high school students who were attending the top schools in the Boston area. The program focused on extra-academic enrichment primarily in the humanities and social sciences and was affiliated with Harvard's Department of African and African-American Studies. Upon graduation, I volunteered working with students in Watts (Los Angeles) to help them prepare college applications and personal essays. During this time, I also mentored students on preparing for interviews with top management consulting firms. Finally, during my time at Yale, I served as 2nd-year teaching assistant for the Competitive Strategy and State & Society core classes. In this capacity, I helped 1st-year students (whose ages ranged from 24 - 40+) understand the material, graded assignments and exams, and provided reviews for students. I also served as one of the coaches on the 1st-year debate team. Subject I tutor: I tutor Economics (micro and macro), Finance, GMAT and SAT prep, Writing and Public Speaking. I am most passionate about microeconomics and have taken many classes in the subject area in college and business school. I think it provides a very logical and analytical framework of understanding many of things we observe in every day life and thus is incredibly helpful and engaging. Tutoring Philosophy: Everyone is different. My goal is to understand what your specific needs are and to tailor my style in a way that will produce the maximum level of success for you. Commitment and hard work have no substitutes, but the plan of attack should be specific to the student. Interests and hobbies: Technology, basketball, soccer, podcasting, film and television and finding the best cup of coffee in New York, Grantland.
