Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to be a journalist and an author because of my love for writing. After graduating from Ohio University with a degree in Journalism, I was able to put my writing skills to use while working in radio and television news. I am also the author of five books.I am passionate about writing! I love the idea of helping students gain clarity and find their unique voices through the written word,Being able to communicate your thoughts and ideas with clearly and concisely is essential for your personal AND professional life.I'm a firm believer that "If you can speak and write well, you can influence. I have long enjoyed enjoyed working with others to help them achieve personal goals. Some of the most fulfilling tutoring I have done recently have been tutoring immigrants for the US Citizenship Test, helping formerly incarcerated individuals attain their GEDs, and tutoring children in Honduras on conversational English to obtain high-paying jobs in the tourism industry. I'm thrilled to work with anybody on any subjects of interest, reach out with any questions!

I am a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychological and Brain Sciences and Educational Studies. After graduating I attended a post-baccalaureate pre-medical program at Bryn Mawr College. I have worked in several teaching and tutoring roles previously with middle and high school students and received education in teaching at the undergraduate level. I also coached sailing competitively for many years. I am passionate about Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and medicine and excited to tutor these subjects in addition to MCAT prep. I believe that every student can exceed given the right resources, environment, and encouragement. I look forward to working with students and watching them gain confidence in themselves as they master the material and are prepared to tackle new challenges all alone. I have taken Latin and ancient Greek through the graduate level. I currently and have for the last five years been a developmental evaluator where I evaluate children ages 3-5 to determine if they qualify for developmental services. The mission in my everyday work is "to provide a collective support system to enhance educational opportunities for my community and the students we serve". Since graduation, I have worked in a Title 1 district teaching Pre-K for 1 year and going on my 3rd year teaching second grade. I have also tutored grades 2, 3, 4, and 5, for the STARR test. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Math. I have also receive "best school teacher" in my county. In my experience helping struggling students prepare for the next grade level and find learning fun and engaging. I am a firm believer that if students enjoy what they are being taught they will find retain information and be successful in life. In my spare time, I enjoy coaching cheer, as I was involved in that growing up and love watching others love for the sport grow.

Currently, I'm studying in a 5 year dual-degree, dual certificate program called CASE (Combined Accelerated Studies in Education) to receive a bachelor's in Applied Developmental Psychology, a master's in education, a teaching certificate in PK-4th General Education, and a teaching certificate in PK-8th Special Education. I am also a Spanish minor and completing my certificate in Children's Literature. My future plan is to become an elementary teacher. I am well-versed in biology, psychology, English/writing, reading, elementary mathematics, and ACT test prep. Most of my previous tutoring experience has been in writing/reading test prep for high school aged students.I work as a teacher's helper at a local school during the school year and nanny two elementary age girls during the summer. I love using creative and inventive activities to teach students!
