I am a recent transplant to the Portland area after spending the last 4 plus years in Ecuador. The job of a teacher or tutor involves the consideration of many different factors and variables when working with students. It is not as simple as passing on information about a subject or topic. The role of a tutor is to reinforce the instruction of a student's teacher and build up a base of knowledge with the use of real world examples.My teaching style is deeply rooted in the idea that each student is a unique human being who has to be listened to and given adequate attention in order to reach his or her full potential.
