I am a graduate of Murray State University and Lipscomb University. At Murray State, I received two Bachelor of Arts degrees in history and Spanish while at Lipscomb I received my teacher practitioner license. Since graduation, I have traveled extensively, teaching two years in a low-income public high school in Tennessee; three years in Spain teaching English while improving my Spanish, and also tutoring children from low income areas of Kentucky and small towns in Valencia. During this time, I also acquired my TEFL certification. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Spanish, English, and History. I have a strong belief in the idea that anybody is able to learn and those who struggle simply need help in approaching the subjects differently. I've been in and around education for 13 years. I've been a classroom teacher for the past seven. Every year my courses change and I've been a "jack of all trades" since I've been in the classroom. I haven't completed a Doctoral Degree, but I've been on every level of education outside of that. I grew up in a small town in Tennessee where it sometimes felt like I would never get beyond the boundaries of my home state and see more of the world. When it finally came time for me to go to college, I was intent on making the most of my experience--in terms of my education as well as my other activities. It is so important to me to be able to help students work toward their dreams.I graduated from Murray State University with a degree in Creative Writing, and I am still working toward my Master's degree in English with a focus on TESOL.
