The best thing I can do to ensure student success is to build genuine, positive instructor-student relationships that encourage open communication and honesty. I believe it is important to promote student agency in the classroom. I encourage my students to inquire, to think critically and self-reflect, to make responsible choices, and to affect positive change in their greater communities. I ensure that my classroom is a safe place where students can do this. Individuals in my classroom can express themselves and share their feelings and beliefs in a supportive environment.
