As a dedicated educator with a Master's degree in Business from Franklin University, I have over 10 years of experience teaching college business courses. My approach centers on fostering a supportive learning environment where students feel empowered to engage with the material actively. I believe in using real-world examples to make complex concepts relatable, which not only enhances understanding but also ignites a passion for the subject. I am deeply motivated by the opportunity to help students achieve their academic goals and develop critical thinking skills that will serve them throughout their lives. Outside of teaching, I enjoy family, our farm animals and antique cars. I look forward to helping you along your educational journey.

I am a graduate of Franklin University with a bachelor's degree in accounting and an MBA. I also have an applied associate's degree in interpreting/ASL Education. I have worked as an accounting professional for over 25 years and spent the last 16 years teaching in higher education. Teaching is one of the greatest passions of my life. As a first-generation college student, I understand not only the struggles that often accompany collegiate subject matter, but also the challenge to manage multiple, often competing priorities with work, family, community, and education roles. I have taught many courses over the past 16 years, but believe my strongest subject matters are accounting, QuickBooks, business, personal finance, and American sign language. Interestingly the vast majority of my students taking an accounting course are non-accounting majors so these students may not have a natural affinity towards or interest in the content so I believe I have mastered how to simplify this content and deliver it in a way that is interesting and understandable. I wholeheartedly believe education can open doors for students that may not otherwise ever be and so I am committed to help each student be successful in their coursework. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, cooking, board games, college football, and spending time with family and friends.

I am 20 years old, and I graduated from high school in Connecticut. Now, I am enrolled at Franklin university in Switzerland. I am very passionate about language, as I come from a family of writers and my father is Swiss, so I've been learning German for quite some time. My goal is to help students find tools and tricks to understand content that they may be struggling with. I have always been passionate about learning and helping others. Hopefully I can help you achieve your learning goals!
I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Financial Management and an Associate of Arts degree in Computer Science, providing me with a strong foundation to tutor a variety of subjects, particularly in Math, Computer Science, Accounting, Financial Literacy, QuickBooks, and Business Writing and Principles. Throughout my career, I've found immense satisfaction in guiding and educating others, especially when it comes to demystifying complex technical and financial topics. My passion lies in helping students truly understand the fundamentals of these subjects and how they apply to the real world. I've had the opportunity to educate clients on mortgage options, train colleagues on financial best practices, and develop training programs on specialized home loans for real estate professionals and veterans. I've also taught first-time homebuyers about the mortgage process through a community housing organization, empowering them to make informed financial decisions, and tutored individuals and small businesses on accounting and financial management principles. From explaining the intricacies of algorithms and coding logic to helping someone master QuickBooks for their business, or guiding a student through the principles of algebra or financial planning, I find it incredibly rewarding to witness those "aha!" moments when a concept clicks. My teaching philosophy centers on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment. I tailor my approach to each student's individual needs, using real-world examples to make the material relatable and breaking down complex topics into manageable parts. I believe in fostering a love of learning and helping students build confidence in their abilities. Outside of work and education, I enjoy staying active in my community, yoga, meditation, philosophy, and constantly learning new skills, which often gives me new perspectives to bring to my tutoring sessions.
What is your interest? Music, sports, or any other area of interest is used to translate "academic language" to real-life, practical language for the material you are learning. We will work together to understand your needs and accomplish your educational goals. I was a University professor for many years as well as a corporate executive. We WILL find a way to help you achieve your goals.
I believe that it is the responsibility of the faculty member to creatively engage the students in their learning process. My teaching approach would simulate a tour guide of a great art museum. I have the knowledge and experience about the building, and guide the students through the tour with the syllabus and learning objectives being the focus. However, it is up to each student to find and explore the artwork for themselves to make the most out of this learning experience. Each student has to engage him or herself in the work; I can just present ideas, materials, and give a perspective to the learning tour and journey.
