As an educator with over a decade of teaching experience, I am excited about the opportunity to apply my skills and expertise in science with you all. I have a bachelors degree in Biology from Dillard University in New Orleans Louisiana, and a Masters degree in Educational Administration from Houston Baptist University. My teaching philosophy is always centered around the student and how I can bring real world experiences to what they are being taught. Every student has their own individual needs and way of learning. As their instructor it is my responsibility to have them explore their gifts and talents, providing an environment that will maximize their learning to meet their individual needs. It is important for me to teach in a way that employs a variety of teaching strategies that the students will understand. Teaching is my passion, a life-long process of reflecting and making necessary adjustments. It is my belief that all students will learn with my guidance and support, and be successful in life with whatever path they choose.

I vividly remember the stress and strain I experienced while preparing for the ACT and SAT respectively. I had a tutor - but I never felt comfortable asking questions or informing him that I did not understand. My mission since becoming an educator has always been to provide students with a safe space to express their challenges and academic shortcomings with the assurance that they would not be judged. Furthermore, I wanted them to know that we would work to find a viable solution to the challenge before us.This mission has proved be quite successful. I have worked with students in grades K-12 on writing, reading, and occasionally math instruction. Far more often than not, the outcome has been successful. It has been successful because I worked to create an atmosphere of complete transparency, and I learned to pay careful attention to each of my students. Therefore, I could identify academic challenges or misunderstanding that in some cases they were not aware of themselves.Creating an open space that leads to transformative work is my special gift. I would be honored to share it with students through this platform.

I am from Houston, Texas. I have always had a love for learning. This was evident when I was young and still exists today. I am the guy in the group who plays random trivia games to learn about new stuff that I have never been exposed to before. When I started college at Dillard University I discovered that I also have a deep love for teaching. I discovered the ultimate way to assess if you really know something is whether or not you can teach it to someone who may not be familiar with the subject matter. This a great challenge, but I enjoy it. I love to see the look on a person's face when they "get it." I have also found that I too learn new things about the subject that I may not have known before. This is a rewarding experience for me. The subjects I am most passionate about are Chemistry and Biochemistry. I am most comfortable with these subjects, since they were my majors in undergraduate school. Eventually, I hope to be a college professor full time. I value knowledge because once it is attained it cannot be taken away from someone. If a person decides to use it, it becomes even more valuable.
I look forward to working with students to help them with their understanding of varying subjects. I hope to make learning fun. I will organize our time, so that we have time for studying, while we have fun.
I'm passionate about tutoring because I love helping students gain clarity and confidence in subjects that often feel overwhelming, especially biology and chemistry. I also tutor math and other science courses. My goal in every session is to make complex material feel approachable and meaningful so students not only understand what they're learning but also why it matters. I earned a Bachelor of Science from Dillard University, where I majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry. During my four years as an undergraduate, I tutored college students in a range of science courses, including General Chemistry I and II, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, and General Biology. Through that experience, I developed a student-centered approach built on listening first, understanding each student's unique challenges, and working together to strengthen their foundation and build confidence. I am currently working toward medical school, and I bring that same dedication and curiosity to my teaching. Outside of academics, I enjoy reading self-development books and playing soccer in my local league. These activities keep me focused, motivated, and always learning, and I strive to bring that same energy into every tutoring session.
