I am a graduate of the Columbus College of Art and Design and received a BFA in Animation in May 2024. I developed hands-on experience teaching both peers and younger students throughout my life, and have done one on one lessons teaching both math and violin. I have always jumped on any opportunity to help peers in school on a broad range of subjects ranging from geometry to Japanese and derive great fulfillment from providing clarity and knowledge to students. Although I have developed my teaching roots in a more academic field, my true passion lies in 2D animation. Having been primarily self-taught in animation, I have a great desire to share what I wish I could have learned early on in a way that was easier to digest as a first time animator. When it comes to teaching animation, I firmly believe in balancing lectures with hands on exercises. Trial and error is a vital part of a successful animation and one of the core reasons I adore this medium; it teaches you that failure is okay and necessary to improve upon your craft.

I love art dearly, having gone to college for comics I have gained the knowledge and abilities to introduce, encourage, and support students working art- either in art itself, or merely through it. This includes writing and storytelling directly through a more traditional story, as well as storytelling through simple drawings and images. I put the artist's joy of creating art first, first and foremost I believe art should be a fun, enjoyable experience, especially while learning.

All students, of all ages, are individuals and everyone learns in their own unique way.Learning is a lifelong process and I want to instill that passion in my students.I expect great things from everybody, regardless of skill, talent, ability, or disability.I engage with my students personally as well as academically. You can't teach everything to everyone and true learning requires many different types of knowledge. I use multiple methods of teaching (linguistic, visual, auditory, kinesthetic) to assist my students. I believe in giving students choices rather than directives. I hope they will feel empowered to learn by my method.I entered the age of education again after 20 years-- to earn my Masters in Humanities and graduated in 2014. It was quite a process to learn how to manage my time again, get reacquainted with my study habits, and of course, become diverse in my thought processes and accepting criticism about my work. Learning a new topic or refreshing your knowledge in a subject an be quite scary. I know I was terrified. But, I am here to teach my methods and relive my testimonial through my students, you can fulfill your educational goals and be successful.

I am a mixed media artist who loves to teach. I graduated from Columbus College of Art and Design in 2019 with a BFA. My passion is inspiring others to be themselves and helping people express themselves specifically through visual art. I have both experience in tutoring and teaching all-age leveled art classes. I specifically love teaching painting and collaging but I am very experimental in my teaching methods. I encourage all students to try something new at least once in their creative practice.
