I am a Junior Accounting student at SMU motivated to help younger students reach their academic and testing potential, especially when taking the PSAT, SAT and ACT. I want to help students achieve their goals through engaging tutoring sessions tailored to the needs of each individual, and I want to give students the tools they need to succeed on their own outside of a classroom setting.

I'm going into medical school the next academic year at UT Southwestern, and currently at the University of Texas at Dallas for undergraduate studies. I've been tutoring for over 5 years in a variety of subjects, and I love to tutor because I truly believe in supporting students so that they can reach their full potential.

I am strongly committed to bringing students to mastery. To accomplish this, I thought it was important that I am trained and educated extensively in this field. This is why I have obtained not only a Bachelor's degree in education, but I have obtained a Master's degree as well. I'm Alyssa! I graduated from Texas Christian University in 2021 with a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and a minor in Psychology (with Honors and a 4.0 GPA!). I am a current Doctorate of Physical Therapy student at Texas Woman's University, continuing my education in Kinesiology and related subjects.

I am a responsive and talented educator offering tutoring to middle school, high school, and undergraduate students in the Humanities. I am a certified teacher with nearly 15 years of classroom teaching and tutoring experience and a Master's in Secondary Education. My favorite subjects to tutor are World History, U.S. History, Reading, Writing, Literature, and Spanish I. I always make learning relevant to my students' lives and approach each lesson as a shared learning experience for us both.

I am a huge component of constant feedback. A session may be wasted if feedback is only provided in the last five minutes. For this reason, I would help students stay motivated by maintaining a conversation over the material and relating to other interesting aspects of their life.

I am most passionate about Photoshop, Graphic Design, Digital media, and Animation. I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy singing which enriches my creativity, hiking, DIY Crafts, and playing softball.

I am incredibly proud that I am a part of this process, and that my students will grow to pass on their own knowledge to others in a never-ending chain. In my spare time, I enjoy reading science fiction and fantasy novels, cooking, playing games (both board games and video games), and modifying my car.
