I am a second year Graduate student at the Rutgers University Business School, pursuing a Masters of Business Administration (MBA). Throughout my career, I have spent time tutoring students in the fields of Algebra, Calculus, and Statistics. I enjoy working with these topics as they are prevalent in "every-day" life; for example, as a manager I have used these concepts to effectively monitor staff and inventory. My experiences, combined with my current MBA curriculum, have greatly enhanced my ability to tutor students who may be struggling with these topics. As a middle school student, I found Mathematics difficult and overwhelming. However, an eight-grade algebra teacher fueled my passion for the subject by making it fun, interesting, and easy to understand. A lifelong learner, my heroes have always been my teachers. Now my goal is to be that person for today's students. I returned to school after a business career and earned my PhD. For the past 5 years, teaching and tutoring math and statistics students within the Minnesota State colleges and universities system has been both challenging and satisfying. Helping students overcome their math frustration is a highlight. These subjects are not for everyone. However, it seems reasonable that successful learning comes when tutoring complements individual interests and educational goals. Some people aspire to win an Olympic medal; scientific minds would like a Nobel Prize; and those who like more drama, seek an Academy Award. As a Certified Marine Surveyor I have performed over 6,000 inspections and investigations for such clients as Lloyd's of London.My four decades began as a Peace Corp volunteer in Peru in the earthquake reconstruction efforts up to being the Chief of Party consultant for the Deloitte &; Touch's task force restructuring the entire export industry of five Caribbean nations simultaneously for the European Union.I have lived in while working in seven foreign countries and have worked on short term assignments in fourteen others representing both, foreign transnational and local interests. I am also fully bilingual English/ Spanish and am conversant in French and Portuguese.I received an MBA from INCAE , under the auspices of Harvard. Previously I earned an under graduate double degree in Business Administration and Accounting at Western New England University WNE , in Massachusetts with the distinction of Cum Laude.
