The climate of debate surrounding composition studies in today's college classroom requires both new and experienced instructors to cautiously examine the methods, intentions, and practical outcomes of their respective pedagogies. English departments across the country now recognize that "the claim that writing can enhance learning has been conflated with the claim that writing does enhance learning" (Leki 67), casting considerable doubt on the putative efficacy and necessity of the freshman composition course in post-secondary education. While many proponents of traditional pedagogy continue to support the idea of writing proficiency as a life skill whose development constitutes an integral part of students' general education, a growing number of academic professionals insist that "students should be able to see the relationship of the [writing] assignment to both the class objectives and their 'real world' future work" (Reid and Kroll 20). In the past few decades, the nature of composition courses and the assignments they involve have changed to reflect an increasing "emphasis on argument and research" (Lunsford and Lunsford 793) that stresses the importance of writing across the curriculum and of preparing students for the writing tasks that await them in the professional arena. Journalism, technical writing, business correspondence, and legal and medical documentation are just a few of the specialized writing genres have emerged to compete with academic writing for recognition in the composition classroom. However, these genres may be too occupationally grounded to meet the needs of entering students who have yet to choose a major and whose primary objective is to receive an academic degree. Accordingly, one of my chief pedagogical goals is to engage students with writing exercises and instruction that will strengthen their accuracy of expression while teaching the methods of description, narration, analysis, and persuasion necessary to the successful completion of written coursework throughout their college experience.

I got introduced to teaching when I was in my teens by working with my siblings, cousins, neighbors etc. It soon became a regular practice to sit with my younger sibling to check his homework assignments and prepare him for his examinations.When in college, teaching became my profession. I started to teach kids from K-10. It soon gave me purpose to continue my journey of gaining knowledge. I taught middle school subjects like mathematics and science including physics, chemistry and biology while I myself was studying economics, mathematics and statistics.I have also been a teacher in preschool for more than a year which has led me to understand the importance of child psychology and the relevance of mode of teaching.I feel that I had a nag of teaching which got developed into passion. I am always eager to help someone understand a concept, clear their doubts, and give them a guide and pathway towards learning.

I am a dedicated honors graduate of The Art Institute of Seattle, where I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Media Arts and Animation with a focus on concept art and design. Since graduation, I have discovered a fondness for teaching students the "world of art" and making the subject fun and personalized for each individual's goals. While I teach a broad range of art subjects, I am most passionate about illustration (graphic design) and animation. In my experience helping struggling students find a passion and purpose for themselves in relation to art, I always seem to have the most fun (with remarkable advancements) engaging with each individual to make the class personalized for them while still hitting the requirements and standards. By making the class personalized it gives each of my students the opportunity to see how art can be used in their life, no matter how "unrelated" it may be to their career goals. In my spare time, I enjoy testing out new technologies that can be used to enrich the art world such as augmented and/or virtual reality as well as simple hobbies like leisurely playing video games, working on passion projects, DIY for my lovely pets, and playing around with mechanical design concepts.
