I am originally from San Antonio, TX; I completed my undergraduate education at Rice University in Houston where I received a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. Currently, I am in my second year of medical school at Baylor College of Medicine.

I love helping students build confidence in math, STEM, and the standardized testing process! I'm looking forward to working together to find the learning method that best suits you. Breaking down complex ideas to understand them bit by bit can help you love these subjects as much as I do!

I am a junior studying Writing for Screen and Television at the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts. For the past two spring semesters I worked as a CollegeSpring Mentor, tutoring Green Dot Charter high school juniors for the SAT and teaching them predatory skills for college. In addition to my experience tutoring for the SAT, as a screenwriting major I most enjoy teaching my favorite subject, English. I love showing students the power language endows upon them to communicate their ideas and beliefs with others. I believe every student deserves the chance to succeed and to try to capitalize on their strengths while encouraging them to improve in areas they may traditionally find challenging. Endowing a student with confidence in themselves through patience and support is the best way not only to improve academic performance, but also transform them into lifelong learners. I try to share not only my passion for knowledge with students, but also my love of sports (football, baseball, and softball), action films, and global affairs. Seeing students not only improve academically but also show improved confidence and happiness is the most rewarding part of my job.

I graduated magna cum laude from Dartmouth College in 2020, and I obtained my Master's in Political Science from the University of Toronto in 2022. In 2016, I received an SAT score of 1550. That year, I also received a 5 on my AP exams in Calculus AB, English Language, U.S. History, and U.S. Government. I am happy to tutor students in mathematics, English, and social sciences (e.g., history, government). I especially enjoy tutoring pre-algebra and algebra. I believe in a practice-based approach in which I take students step-by-step through the concepts at hand. After practicing together with my guidance, the student will soon be able to apply what they have learned on their own.

I am an interdisciplinary educator with an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a B.A. from Dartmouth College. My background is primarily in integrated arts learning and museum education and I specialize in visual arts, history and art history, and object-based learning. In all subjects, I take a creative, inquiry-based and learner-centered approach, designing opportunities for each unique individual to meet their learning goals.

I am a Yale graduate with over 8 years experience tutoring students from a variety of backgrounds. I recently graduated from the Yale School of Public Health with a MPH concentrating in Epidemiology and Global Health. I also received my B.S. from Yale with a double major in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology and French. I have experience both leading group classes and working with students one on one. I am a second year law student at the University of Chicago who hails from the San Francisco Bay Area! I tutor the SAT, ESL, and Spanish. I was an AVID tutor in high school, and after college I taught an ESL class and tutored a high school student in Spanish. In law school, I am involved with the Lawyers in the Classroom program. My tutoring philosophy is based on listening to students work through problems and helping them to spot their confusions or incorrect assumptions. I believe students learn much better when they aren't simply told the right answer or right reasoning; they need to get there on their own.

Hello! I am currently a junior at The Ohio State University majoring in mechanical engineering. I've been tutoring for around 5 years and have worked with students of all ages. I specialize in helping students improve their SAT and ACT scores. My teaching method is to target students weak areas in a subject and reteach them the topic from scratch with tips and tricks. Hi! My name is Julia.I currently work as a statistics tutor at Harper College. I also have a BS in Immunology and MS in Biomedical Science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a MS in Computational Data Analytics from Georgia Tech, where I served as a TA for the introductory coding class. I graduated high school in 2017, and scored a 1570 on the SAT, 34 ACT, and a perfect 1520 pSAT. I am an AP scholar and National Merit Finalist. I scored a 5 on the AP Biology exam and although I did not take the AP Statistics class in high school, I still scored a 4 on the exam after self-studying the material. I customize my tutoring style for each student based on how they learn, but always like to emphasize how and why we get to an answer, not just giving the solutions or blindly running through formulas. I myself prefer to learn this way because it helps with knowledge retention and relies less heavily on rote memorization, which can be tedious at best and even impossible with more complex subjects. I am a recent graduate from a masters program in biostatistics at Columbia University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in biological sciences, with a focus in neurobiology at Northwestern University. In August, I will be starting a doctoral program in biostatistics at NYU. I was a teaching assistant at Columbia University in my department and also have tutored graduate students and undergraduates privately as well. My primary areas of tutoring are math and statistics coursework in addition to math sections on standardized tests such as the GRE and GMAT. I'm a law student and long time tutor who's just made the move to Varsity. I've been tutoring for about eight years now, since I first started working with a friend of a friend's child on his SATs. I graduated from Brooklyn College with a degree in economics, and I'm at Hofstra Law School. I tutor the SATs, ACTs, LSAT, GRE, basically all high school subjects, and a bevy of college ones, including history, psychology, economics, law, and writing. That's not because I'm an expert in everything - it's because the only thing I enjoy more than learning is helping someone else learn. A good tutor doesn't just explain the subject to you - they explain what's cool about it, how it applies to your life, and why you want to learn it. If I have to brush up on my AP Chemistry as an excuse to explain why dimensional analysis is actually the most useful math you'll ever learn, I find it thrilling, not a chore. That's really my whole paradigm, as a tutor. Every subject has a relation to both everyday life, and to the coolest parts of the collective achievements of humanity. Learning not just what Pi is, but what it means, is treading the same ground as the people who built the pyramids. We lose that joy - the enrichment granted by greater understanding - too often in sterile and boring classrooms. My goal is to help students attain mastery by providing the context and tools that let them have "Eureka!" moments. Learning is fun, and tutoring is more than just being a living wikipedia article. It's giving life to the dry and soulless problem set, making fun of the trap answers on the LSAT, and linking history to its greatest stories. I don't need gimmicks and games to make that happen. I just find where a student and I can connect over the material, how they learn, and what they're having trouble with. I won't guarantee anyone a score on a test or promise that everyone can get an A in every subject. But I do promise not to waste anyone's time or money. Every session, my students will learn new facts, new techniques, or new ways to understand some boring idea. That's not because I'm the smartest guy in the room: it's because I simply love seeing people learn.

I am a member of the Brown Class of 2018, pursuing a bachelors degree in mathematics. I graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy in 2014. (I am able to help anyone with the boarding school admissions process.) Outside of academia, I pursue my passions in dance, travel, volunteering, reading and art. My tutoring subjects are mathematics (from elementary school to college level) and standardized testing (SAT, SAT subject tests, PSAT, and SSAT). I have tutored mainly high school students in the New York State Regents exams and AP Calculus, although I also have experience with students in middle and elementary school. Since I have been through many school systems, including public, private, studying abroad, and boarding school, I have learned many different techniques and can attack a problem from various angles. I have been tutoring since 2018. I was a math instructor for five years at a math learning center. There I worked with students in grades 1 through college. I particularly love teaching elementary and middle school math as well as Algebra! I am comfortable working with students of all ages and all abilities. In addition to tutoring math, I was a Spanish AT for introductory Spanish courses and also conversational ones. I am a graduate from Georgetown University, where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics with a minor in Music. I'm currently pursuing a Master's of Science in Business Analytics at Carnegie Mellon University. I've been tutoring since I started high school, focusing on mathematics and writing.
