Hello! I am currently a junior at The Ohio State University majoring in mechanical engineering. I've been tutoring for around 5 years and have worked with students of all ages. I specialize in helping students improve their SAT and ACT scores. My teaching method is to target students weak areas in a subject and reteach them the topic from scratch with tips and tricks. I believe the best way to learn is by applying the topics learnt to real questions to ensure your student feels comfortable solving them come time for the exam!

Hi! My name is Harry, and I'm a junior at the Albert Dorman Honors College at NJIT studying for a BA/MD in Biology on the accelerated program with NJMS. I've been interested in the sciences since I was younger, through which I have enjoyed engaging in my coursework, research, and fellow peers. What I particularly enjoy is the camaraderie that STEM brings about with problem solving with you and your peers, which I hope to foster through tutoring. At NJIT, I have taken challenging courses like General and Organic Chemistry I & II, Physics I & II, and a series of biology courses such as neuroscience, mammalian physiology, and cellular and molecular biology. These experiences not only provided me with a strong academic background but also with an understanding of how to deconstruct difficult material in a way that makes it less intimidating.

I am a junior studying Writing for Screen and Television at the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts. For the past two spring semesters I worked as a CollegeSpring Mentor, tutoring Green Dot Charter high school juniors for the SAT and teaching them predatory skills for college. In addition to my experience tutoring for the SAT, as a screenwriting major I most enjoy teaching my favorite subject, English. I love showing students the power language endows upon them to communicate their ideas and beliefs with others. I believe every student deserves the chance to succeed and to try to capitalize on their strengths while encouraging them to improve in areas they may traditionally find challenging. Endowing a student with confidence in themselves through patience and support is the best way not only to improve academic performance, but also transform them into lifelong learners. I try to share not only my passion for knowledge with students, but also my love of sports (football, baseball, and softball), action films, and global affairs. Seeing students not only improve academically but also show improved confidence and happiness is the most rewarding part of my job.

I want students to feel heard, supported, and challenged to be their best selves. I also have a BS in Immunology and MS in Biomedical Science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a MS in Computational Data Analytics from Georgia Tech, where I served as a TA for the introductory coding class. I scored a 5 on the AP Biology exam and although I did not take the AP Statistics class in high school, I still scored a 4 on the exam after self-studying the material. I customize my tutoring style for each student based on how they learn, but always like to emphasize how and why we get to an answer, not just giving the solutions or blindly running through formulas. I myself prefer to learn this way because it helps with knowledge retention and relies less heavily on rote memorization, which can be tedious at best and even impossible with more complex subjects.
