Hi I'm Jennifer Kathleen and I'm excited to have the opportunity to meet and work with you to help you grow and blossom in life. I live in Wichita, KS which is right in the middle of the United States of America. My four children and I enjoy going to nearby lakes to swim, fish and bike. I have two girls; ages 15 and 10 and two boys; ages 12 and 7. My experience with people young and old has stretched throughout my entire life, but I formally began teaching after graduating from Wichita State University. I thought several years of fourth, fifth and sixth grade students as well as special education. My youngest son has Down syndrome so he teaches me much about relating to children with special needs as well. I look forward to meeting you and hearing your story and hope this finds you eager to learn and grow in every way.
After graduating from college with a degree in Finance, I spent several years in the business world. However, my true passions have always been doing Mathematics and working with children. I went back to school to become a teacher, and it was the best decision I've ever made. This is my eleventh year of teaching, and I can't imagine doing anything else. I had the fortune of having wonderful teachers that made learning math both fun and interesting. It is my goal to provide that same experience to all of my students. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy doing arts and crafts, sewing, and needlework. I also love listening to classic rock and spending time with my dogs.

A good teacher - in my opinion - is one that develops a sensitivity to the joy that comes with learning. That joy - much the same in the processes that bring joy of games - is to be found everywhere in the nature of the human brain; a living computer; a vast of potential of weighted logic gates which give rise to the substance of what we call learning when we - by our activities - so organize them.Even the most bizarre or inspired art - so I attest - comes from the negotiation and change of this substance of our minds, and there is real joy in that!
I received my undergrad at Wichita State and my master's from Emporia State, both in Kansas. I am currently working on a master's in American History at Gettysburg College. My teaching philosophy is that everyone can learn, but not everyone learns in the same way. Working with my students, who speak different languages and come from all over the globe, has taught me that this philosophy holds so much weight! I love watching someone understand something for the first time, and then taking that first dive back for more information on their own!
Breaking down any topic into small pieces can make any goal achievable.
As an Engineer with over 16 years of Math education and over 4 years of experience in a STEM profession, I have developed a great passion for Mathematics. I graduated from Wichita State University with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Mathematics. Math has always been my favorite subject in my education, and I seek to encourage young minds to learn and grow in love with this subject. In the past, I have had multiple experiences tutoring middle school students in STEM subjects. But as a tutor on this platform, I would like to assist elementary school students in growing in their knowledge of mathematics. I believe many students are visual learners, so I would like to incorporate visual aids into my tutoring style. Outside of education and working, I enjoy cooking, drawing, painting, and tennis.
I am a graduate Physics student and I aim to do research in Theoretical Particle Physics.I also am passionate about teaching Math and Physics. I like to teach from the basics because that is when the student will be able to understand 100%.

I absolutely love teaching! I love thinking of new, creative ways to communicate information so students can grasp the material and have that 'ah-ha!' moment. I especially love using hands-on materials or physical activity to help the learning sink-in and stick. My priority is to not only teach the student, but to get to know the student so I can be a more effective teacher. I recently graduated with my Elementary Education degree and I am so anxious to put what I learned to work. I also love being outdoors and being active. My favorite experiences growing up were going to camp, and I still love trying new things and being adventurous. I am a Kansas native but love to travel around the USA and see the sites. I am excited to get to know you and your child and to make learning fun!
As a native English speaker with a BA in Spanish and a minor in German from Wichita State University, I have cultivated a deep passion for languages that extends beyond mere translation. My experience as a Spanish and German tutor in college was incredibly fulfilling, reinforcing my commitment to educational support over translation work. With over 2 years of tutoring experience, I approach each session with infinite patience, drawing from my own struggles in math to connect with students facing challenges in their learning. I specialize in teaching Spanish at all levels, as well as elementary German and English, while also offering guidance in study skills and organization. My diverse interests in languages, creative writing, and philosophy enrich my tutoring approach, enabling me to create engaging, student-centered learning experiences that inspire confidence and academic success.

Being a student is a difficult undertaking. I wish this had been available when I was in school. I enjoy working with students and helping them understand their subject matter. I earned my education in Oklahoma and Kansas in Psychology (BA degree), Sociology, Clinical Addictions Counseling, and Social Work (LMSW). I am not currently in school but preparing to begin the process of working for a clinical social work license. I enjoy addictions the most because it is my passion, closely followed by psychology, social work, and sociology. My teaching philosophy is that we are all capable of learning. The tutoring platform allows me to tailor my teaching based on a single individual. Practical applications have been the key to my own learning, and I have experienced them as helpful. My style is somewhat informal as it is easier for people to learn from a place of calm rather than anxious. Outside of academia I enjoy walking in nature, music, movies, art that speaks to me, and generally, anything that feeds my senses and my soul. I look forward to meeting you.
I hold a bachelor's and master's degree in education. I taught for the same school district 32 years (gifted 1 year, 4th 1 year, 5th 30 years). I left the district three years ago, but I continued my passion for educating young people through math tutoring. I believe in fostering a growth mindset in every student, turning challenges into opportunities for learning and self-improvement. My tutoring sessions are designed to be engaging and interactive, encouraging students to ask questions and explore mathematical concepts. By creating a supportive and encouraging environment, I aim to build their confidence and help them develop a genuine interest in math. Together, we celebrate their progress, no matter how small, reinforcing the idea that persistence and effort lead to success.
