I am from Chicago, IL. I am currently a second-year medical student at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. One of my passions includes teaching students. I have 5+ years of tutoring experience. I have been teaching for almost 20 years and I really enjoy interaction with students. I think there is a lot for an instructor to learn from that interaction since you put apart the problem you are trying to teach. You learn details you never thought were there. I got my bachelor's degrees from UMKC in computer science and math and I'm passionate about both and especially about AI as its a wonderful combination of both. Currently I'm pursuing my Master's in computer science with a concentration in data science. I'm tutoring Python, R, Data Science, Discrete Math, Math, Middle School Math and Technology and Computer Science.

I have been working as a science teacher since 1989. I individualize my lessons by providing worksheets and practice materials. I work with students to determine the gaps in their learning and have help students become more successful in their science classes.

I recently graduated from UMKC with a B.S. in Physics, with an emphasis in Astronomy and a minor in Math. My ultimate goal is to become a professional astronomer and educator, and I plan to start a Ph.D. program in the fall, most likely at KU.During my time at UMKC, I was a Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leader for introductory calculus-based physics. SI is, in essence, collaborative group tutoring, and my teaching style and philosophy stems from that. I try to make my lessons fun and interesting, and I believe that my students learn better when they are helping others learn.My passion for teaching comes from my personal philosophy that the human mind is a person's greatest asset, and to seek to develop it and understand the world around you is the loftiest ambition there is.

I am a former teacher who loves learning and seeing students learn things they never thought they could learn. I have lived in KC for almost 4 years and am really falling in love with the city.I taught high school Spanish 1 for two years and taught theater for three years.My teaching style is structured, but fun. I am firm believer in practicing as much as possible and getting friends and family in on your learning. I use power points, props, videos, games, and whatever else I can find to make sure that every student is learning according to their learning style.

I am a young professional born and raised in Kansas City, Mo. I received my BA in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Missouri in 2013, and I am now pursuing my MBA at UMKC. I am a young marketing professional with good industry knowledge and experience.

I am a medical student currently attending the 6 year BA/MD program at UMKC. My interest in both the sciences and the humanities has led me to pursue a career in medicine. My favorite subjects to learn and teach include English reading and writing, Mandarin, math, and biology. I am especially passionate about teaching English reading and writing because as someone who personally went through the process of learning English from scratch, I deeply understand the challenges involved in honing one's language skills. I hope to use the lessons I have learned from my experience to help others who are working on improving their reading and writing skills, no matter how far they are along the process. I am patient, persistent, supportive, receptive to feedback, and I always strive to adapt my tutoring style to work with each student's unique needs and expectations.

I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis May 2021 with a BA in Biology and a minor in Writing. I am a dental student at University of Missouri-Kansas City and I will graduate with a DDS in 2025. I have benefitted immensely from study groups, peer workshops, and online resources during my time in undergrad, so I know how much a little extra work can help in the long run. When I'm not doing school stuff, I love to read, hang out with my foster cats, and spend time outside.

I have a B.A. in English from the University of Kansas and an M.A. in English from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. My area of concentration as an undergraduate was English literature, but what I gained experience in most of all was writing. This continued in my professional career. While not a formal part of my job description, I have been assisting business people with their writing for over twenty years - everything from proposals to resumes and executive communications. A part of my formal role has included writing articles, creating newsletters, interviewing executives, and designing and writing content for marketing materials around the insurance and employee benefits industry.I'm a big advocate of learning how to write well. Two guideposts on writing for me have been 1) George Orwell's "Politics and the English Language", an essay he wrote in 1948 that speaks to the repercussions of fuzzy writing, and 2) Strunk and White, "The Elements of Style". Both of these are not only entertaining, but timeless and worth reading and rereading. Both speak to the importance of making every word count. Becoming a strong editor of your own work is something I will teach you!Outside of work and tutoring, I sing in a couple of groups and play jazz piano. I also love art - all kinds, particularly public art. I love the murals and sculpture that are part of the landscape of Chicago, where I live. I read all different kinds of materials, but especially American literature, both North and South.
