I graduated from Old Dominion University, Norfolk Virginia with a Masters degree in Secondary Education Mathematics and University of Cape coast, Ghana West Africa with Bachelors degree of Sciences (Mathematics). I am a highly qualified licensed teacher for mathematics (grade 6-8 and 9-12, North Carolina). During my six and a half years of teaching as a mathematics educator, I have taught: Math foundations, Math 1, Math 2, and Math 3. I also served in United States Navy for 4 years.My motto: Every student can learn math but it takes the right teacher. I combine both everyday situations and technology to make math make sense to my students.

I am passionate about helping students because I want to empower students and provide an opportunity for them to feel prepared for college which will lead to eventually become a working professional. I want to be able to give back and help others with their dreams, goals, and visions. I previously worked as a tutor at ForKids in Norfolk, Virginia, as a teacher at Rainbow Station in Glen Allen, Virginia, and I have worked in higher education in the career services department helping students with resume and cover letter writing. I received my undergraduate degree from Old Dominion University, my first masters degree is in academic advising from Kansas State University and I will receive my second masters degree in human resources management from the University of Richmond in May 2017. I tutor college essays, resume writing, cover letter writing, mock interviews, etc. These are my favorite because I am knowledge in those areas and I want to eventually become the director of career services at an institution of higher education. My teaching philosophy is that I cannot do my job, unless you are successful. I will do everything in my power to make sure my students are satisfied with their work and have the tools that they need to be successful after our session has ended. Outside of tutoring I love to travel, I love trying local restaurants, and I love to read thriller/mystery and self-help books.

Growing up with a teacher for a mother, I have always been challenged to learn. A voracious reader, writer, and student, I always loved learning. These interests were compounded by the desire to share the knowledge I acquired from each new topic of study. As early as grade school, I assisted in teaching my brother to read. Throughout our childhood, then high school and college, I have worked with friends, classmates, and colleagues as a tutor in a wide range of subjects. I strive to further my students' understanding of given material and engage them with new ways of working through problems.

I am really passionate about our youth and I consider it a privilege to help them expand their knowledge. I love watching students learn; the greatest experience is when an educator actually sees the student learn and grasp a concept...nothing is more rewarding.

I have been teaching and tutoring Math for over 15 years. I started my career as a high school teacher and am currently a Lecturer of Mathematics at a local university. I have a Master's Degree in Applied Computational Mathematics and can help with nearly all high school and college level math courses. I am a graduate of Old Dominion University with two Bachelors, one in Art History and the other in History. In June of 2022, I graduated Norwich University with my Masters in World History. Teaching is my passion and I fully believe that all students have the capability to succeed, and it is my goal as a tutor to foster self-confidence and success in every student. Therefore, my philosophy is to never give up on a student, to be fully dedicated to their needs and their education, and to always make sure they always strive for their best to develop self-confidence and success. When I tutor, I like to challenge my students because I see their capabilities. If needed, I will also assist students with study habits, time management skills, and organization as we progress through our sessions. I was a Spanish Tutor and an AVID tutor, and it was a rewarding experience to see students succeed and thrive. I hope to impart a small passion for history to every student I tutor. My passion for history is mostly in ancient and prehistory, and I hope someday that I will get the opportunity to travel to Europe to visit ancient sites and see cave paintings.

I am a Florida high school teacher certified in Business Education 6-12 and Earth and Space Science 6-12. I currently teach cybersecurity and earth/space science. I enjoy helping students improve their academic performance and my areas of strength are business, finance, economics, marketing, sales, information technology, networks, cybersecurity, astronomy, and earth science. I simplify concepts to make them easy to understand and take time to check for understanding and am patient with students who struggle with subject content.

I am passionate about helping students learn. It is my joy to see a new student gain a new skill and make a new accomplishment. I have worked with students for five years tutoring multiple subjects in person and four years tutoring English in an online setting. I graduated from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a focus on early childhood development. I have passed several assessments for teachers in both English and Math. I have focused my professional career on teaching and training of children and young adults. Currently I tutor a broad range of subjects, however, my favorite subjects to tutor are English (ESL) and math. I enjoy watching my students gain in their ability to express themselves in English where they were not able to do so before. I also enjoy tutoring Math with the concrete concepts. I am a 3rd year teacher with a bachelors degree in elementary education from Old Dominion University. My favorite subjects to teach are reading/language arts and math and my expertise are in grades K-1.
