I am fascinated by how the Earth works, and how other sciences such as biology, ecology, chemistry, hydrology and even planetary geology help us understand the planet we live on. I also have extensive knowledge of the extraction and distribution of natural resources, and how that affects populations, cultures, and politics. I have seen geology up close in 40+ states and 10+ countries. I am accomplished at technical and business writing, and public speaking.

I am here to help them succeed. They don't need to be embarrassed or shy around me. I want to offer a safe place for the students to learn and practice what they already know, and then move on from that place to learn more and more.

I am also enjoy tutoring at my free time. While most students learn by reading examples and solving problems, I, as experienced teacher and tutor, guide students learning by nurturing their interest, helping them understand the WHY in addition to HOW.

I am a passionate individual who is excited about learning. I have a graduate degree in Sociology, have taken multiple advanced courses in Statistics, and have a minor in Spanish. My experience includes two years as a graduate teaching assistant at Colorado State University and two years as a swim lesson instructor for the City of Corvallis. While working as a graduate teaching assistant, I taught in front of classes and helped students with homework for statistics and sociology courses.

I am the son of a military officer, and lived the nomadic life of almost all military “brats”. I first attended school, very briefly, in England. We returned to the US, relocated as ordered, and by the time I graduated from High School I had attended at least 8 different schools. I am a self-described grammar geek, and I really enjoy helping students understand the WHY and the HOW of the Spanish language. I believe Spanish is a beautiful language and I love watching others come to appreciate it as much as I do.

I am passionate about engaging my students and helping them understand and apply the material. In my free time I love spending time outside in the mountains or running with my dogs, riding horses, and traveling.

I am a creative problem solver, which comes in handy with my 4 year old twins! I love to craft and decorate my home. My goal this year is to see more of Florida, where I live.

I am a Colorado State University student in Mechanical Engineering. I work as a Physics and Calculus tutor on Campus both privately and during office hours. I am also an Engineering Mentor for the Incoming students in Engineering each year. I have experience with courses from chemistry to mathematics and physics. I am in Pi Tau Sigma, the mechanical engineering honor society, and genuinely love the subject matter with which I work.
