For over 11 years I have had the privilege to work with students from all different backgrounds and ability levels. I earned my bachelor's degree from Capital University and majored in Middle Childhood Education in the areas of Mathematics and Language Arts/Reading, I also earned my master's degree from University of Phoenix in Curriculum and Instruction. I have taught in both a traditional school setting and online school as well, so I understand what it takes to help someone excel when face to face learning cannot take place. Math and Reading are my areas of expertise, and I enjoy working in both content areas. However, if I had to pick a favorite, I absolutely love helping students understand Math. I have a very approachable, student-centered teaching style. I understand that everyone thinks differently and at different speeds. I want my students to end their sessions with me feeling confident and successful and looking forward to our next time together. Teaching isn't the only thing I enjoy doing, I am very active and enjoy being outdoors, yoga, cooking, church, reading for pleasure, and cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes! My name is Olivia. I started studying French when I was in high school and fell in love with it. After a short visit to Paris with the French Club at my high school, I knew I wanted to be able to speak it fluently. I majored in French in college and spent six months living in Aix-en-Provence where I took intensive French courses and lived with a French woman. Inspired by my experience, I hoped to come back and work. After graduating in 2013 I became an English Teaching assistant in a high school and two middle schools in Tulle. I fell in love with teaching English and after I returned to the States I became a substitute teacher and pursued my TEFL certification. The following year I became a teaching assistant again and this time worked in Brive-la-Gaillarde. My time in living in France has allowed me to become fluent in French as well as having a keen understanding of French culture. I have two years of experience teaching English as a second language through my time as an language assistant.I have passion for teaching and sharing language and culture. I hope one day to become and English teacher in France .

In terms of academics, I received a B.A. in Philosophy from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. Currently, I live in New York City and will begin law school this fall. Having lived overseas as a child, I prioritized opportunities for travel as an adult, which has led to an interest in international law.As a tutor, I provide preparation for all parts of the LSAT, including logical reasoning, reading comprehension, logic games, and the essay portion.In addition to reliable techniques for tackling questions, I teach future law students how to better think about and approach the test as a whole and the questions it asks. When I was studying for the LSAT, sometimes the listed answers to questions seemed wrong to me and my answer seemed the stronger choice. Then, I realized I was not thinking about the test properly. LSAT is a challenging test not only because of the conceptual difficulty, but also it requires test takers to process the material in a very specific way. And that way of thinking is what I offer to clients.My hope is that by passing along what I have found students will better actualize their full potential on test day. Indeed, by realizing what the LSAT is actually asking test-takers to do, or rather how the test wants them to think, previously misleading or ambiguous questions become so much more clear and thus easier to answer correctly. This, combined with teaching practical techniques for analyzing questions and useful testing habits, will lead clients to LSAT success.

My eighth grade history and religion teacher was the man that made me want to teacher. He is a very strong, loving individual that, when looking at him, I saw some one that represented what I wanted to be in life. Every student was always excited to go to his class, complete their homework, and be attentive. He made class fun and entertaining for everyone.. I wanted to make future students??? experience as good as mine was in Mr. Martin???s eighth grade American History class. As a tutor, I look to instill the same approaches that I do when I am teaching. Maintaining a strong bond with my student, one that the student will feel comfortable to let his/her work be vulnerable for critique and adjustments, while being able to maintain a strong bond that helps promote the student???s ability to grow academically
