I have also led many workshops in non-violent communication. More recently, I created and taught a course on cryptocurrency for beginners. I am also a beekeeper who loves to teach people about honeybees and the importance of pollinators and sustainable agriculture. I am a recent-graduate from The Ohio State University with an MA in Hispanic Linguistics. One of my favorite things I did at OSU was teaching Spanish as a Graduate Teaching Associate. I have 6 years total teaching experience (in ESL, EFL, Spanish and math), and I greatly enjoy the profession.

I recently graduated from Brigham Young University, with a bachelor's degree in Applied and Computational Mathematics. I live in Arizona, but have spent a year each in France and Belgium doing informal small-group teaching, during which time I learned to speak French fluently. In high school I taught myself programming, learning over time by working on my own fun ideas. This self-directed, project-oriented approach adds an invaluable measure of fun to the learning process, even when done alongside school projects, and is how I recommend my students find their own motivation, and even love, for programming. Programming to me is a fascinating mix of puzzle-solving and creativity, and I believe it should be done for fun as well as for work.
