I have been a teacher or tutor for 15 years now. I started out in college as a writing assistant, helping students improve their writing and edit their papers. When I switched universities I got a job tutoring math to fellow college students. I graduated with my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I received my ESL and Reading Endorsements within my first 2 years of teaching. I taught for 12 years in the public school system. Recently I quit my teaching job to stay home with my three girls, ages 11, 9 and 3. I feel so grateful for the opportunity to be home with them while still tutoring and teaching students, which is my passion. I also teach English part-time online to students in Asia. ESL, Writing, Reading and Math are my areas of expertise. I look forward to meeting future students and helping them achieve their dreams!

I am here to help. Learning and taking tests can be stressful. Some students benefit seeing the structure of how prior learning relate to the current ideas. Others approach learning in much less linear fashion. Getting to know the student and their learning style can reduce their frustration. I hope to help get people into the zone where they can learn without being frustrated.

From my own experience, I have seen that when a student is ready to learn, the teacher is then able to teach. Unfortunately I have also seen that when students do not want to learn, a teacher cannot teach them anything. For this reason, I want to provide a good environment for students so they have a desire to learn. With their true desires, I will provide good quality lessons which will teach and inspire further language development.
