I love learning, and I believe that education is essential to a successful life well lived. I have had the privilege and pleasure to teach all levels and ages, from Pre-K to Higher Education. I am honored to serve any students using any of my education and experience. My passion, for this stage of my career, is teaching reading to contribute to students' firm educational foundation. My bachelor's degree is in History, with a minor in Education, from the University of West Georgia. My first master's degree is in Special Education from the University of North GA. My second master's degree is in Reading Education from the University of West GA. I have add-on endorsements in Teaching the Gifted, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from the University of West Georgia plus an English add-on (grammar, writing, and literature). Also from the University of West Georgia my Ed.S. (specialist degree), and I will complete my Dyslexia endorsement, adding elementary math and autism endorsements soon. I hope to complete my Public History/Museum certificate and School Library Media endorsements. It's important to me to be a lifelong learner.

My main focus is tutoring elementary up to college-level algebra, calculus, and statistics. I used to work in the math tutoring center at the university I attended and I'm a Math major with a concentration in Statistics. Currently I teach highschool math. I have over a years worth of experience tutoring students in a variety of different math subjects.

I am an educator at heart and a scientist by discipline. I caught the teaching bug as an Undergraduate student working as a Teacher's Assistant. The IMPACT program gave me my first opportunity to work with young students, and I loved it. I was honored by the program as an Awesome Science Mentor, leading chemistry, geography, and geology lab activities. After I received my degree I worked as an Intern at a learning center. I worked as a counselor and workshop leader for 5th-12th graders. I continued my work there as the first Sustainable Agriculture Intern for the facility, building the infrastructure for future interns. Working as an educator is something I am passionate about. Making education fun is how I am working to make the future a brighter place.

I received a Bachelor of Science in Literature, Media, and Communications from Georgia Tech. My area of concentration was in media and communications. I have experience in numerous writing forms, including journalistic and technical writing. During my college career, I worked as a Peer Tutor at the University of West Georgia. In my experience, learning is a collaborative effort and can be achieved from many directions. In my tutoring, I try to align each student's academic goals with the material they are mastering. I have a passion for academic writing. I am a firm believer that strengthening one's writing skills is one of the foundations of academic success.I tutor up to college-level English, reading, writing, and social studies; as well as offer support for the college application process.

I am very curious about almost everything and have long aspired to be a Renaissance Man. I became an educator because I love learning new things and helping others. I earned my B.S. in Social Science Education, an M.Ed. in Secondary Education, and an M.S. in Information Systems (business-technology). I am a Georgia certified teacher with more than 14 years of classroom experience. I taught middle school for 10 years, high school for two years, and adults for three. I love seeing students "get it" and realize they are smarter than they thought. My experience has been as a college math and graduate Greek and Hebrew tutor. I currently teach communication and speech at the undergraduate level.My BA in communication is from the University of West Georgia. My MS in communication is from Florida International University. My M.Div. is from Cordon Conwell Theological Seminary.I have two master's degrees and a bachelor's degree. I also completed a three-week course (the New Jersey Writing Project) that trained me teach creative writing. I am a published author.I tutor creative and essay writing, public speaking and math.I enjoy tutoring all of these subjects.My teaching and tutoring style requires me to understand the student's needs and then to teach with a lot encouragement.I am also a captain in the Army and have delivered countless speeches as a chaplain.

I am here to help students succeed. I am currently a high school math teacher in Newnan and truly enjoy my job. I have been teaching full time for the past three school years. My first year I taught sixth grade math and the past two years I have been teaching high school math, grades tenth through twelfth. I think I make a good tutor because I can relate to my students well, I do my best to meet the needs of the families I work with, and I am always honest with whoever I work with.During my spare time I enjoy watching and playing sports, going to the movies, and being involved with church activities. I am a graduate of The University of West Georgia, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in History and my Secondary Education Certification. Since graduation, I have had various long term substitute and paraprofessional positions. I have also traveled abroad, which allowed me to teach English to students in Thailand. Although I tutor a variety of subjects, I find the most enjoyment in English and History. As an educator, I believe that learning is one of the most important parts of anyone's life. In all of my educational positions, I have found the most enjoyment teaching Math Support classes in which I help students prepare for standardized tests. In my spare time, I often find myself reading new books or watching various documentaries on Netflix. I also enjoy outdoor activities such as kayaking, whitewater rafting and camping.
