My favorite area to teach is phonics, because I think it is the most important part of reading and can help a young student in so many academic areas.

Hello! Every student has a gift. It is up to me to use that gift to bring light to a subject students might be struggling with. I am confident that my four years of classroom teaching experience will translate well into being the quality tutor that you need. I excel at using a student's strengths to work on their weaknesses. I will not simply reiterate the content louder and slower in an effort to reach a student. From a young age, I've been driven by a deep passion for helping others unlock their potential. This desire led me to tutoring, where I've found immense satisfaction in witnessing students grasp complex concepts and gain confidence in their abilities. My experience working with students spans several years and various settings, including one-on-one tutoring, group workshops, and classroom assistance. In these roles, I've honed my ability to adapt my approach to meet the unique needs of each learner, fostering a supportive and encouraging environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and taking risks. I am working toward a degree in exercise science. My favorite subject to tutor is math, because I enjoy breaking down complex problems into manageable steps and helping students build a solid foundation of understanding.

I am passionate about educating students about science and applying real world phenomenon to my lessons. I have taught as a tutor during the summer with high school students for science enrichment. I have also taught science to elementary and middle school students. I love teaching students using hands on experiments and class demos. I try to keep the content engaging and as entertaining as possible. I went to the University of Saint Mary where I received a bachelors degree in biology. I also have a Masters in Secondary Education from Pittsburg State University.I can tutor all levels of elementary and middle school science. I can also tutor biology to high school students, which is my favorite subject. I enjoy teaching biology because it is truly the study of life in many different aspects from the cell to ecosystems. My teaching philosophy for science is to always try your best and that is all I can ask for. Education is the key to success. From a working family I grew up valuing education as a way out of poverty.Outside of the classroom I am interested in achieving a higher biology degree. I also work at Science City in Kansas city which brings science phenomena alive. I am also obsessed with animals. I have three pets at home and hope to continue to add more to my family. I have a bunny, snake and dog.

I have a well-rounded education that includes an AA (with emphasis in Robotics from KCKCC in Kansas City, Kansas), a BLS (in Communication and Visual Arts from BGSU in Bowling Green, Ohio), and an MBA (emphasis in Business Administration from University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas). I have been passionate in helping students achieve a basic learning knowledge on various subject matters (but specifically in the mathematical environment) from Kindergarten age through College age for the last 34+ years. My philosophy of teaching is to listen, problem solve with real world applications, all the while creating a visual understanding.
