Hi, I'm Leah! I am a teacher with five years of teaching experience in the lower elementary grades. I am passionate about teaching students and helping them to meet their learning goals. My favorite area to teach is phonics, because I think it is the most important part of reading and can help a young student in so many academic areas.

Q&A with Leah

I believe each student is unique, similar to a crayon in a full box of crayons. Each crayon may have the same overall function - to provide color to a page. However, each crayon may be used to color a different object. Green can be used for grass, blue can be used for the sky, etc. An artist needs to find a place for each colored crayon. The same holds true for a teacher. I feel it is my job to discover the unique talents and interests in each of my students, and bring out their "true colors."
