I received my Bachelor of Arts with a double-major in English Literature and Psychology from the University of Notre Dame in May 2014. After graduating, I served as an Augustinian Volunteer for a year in Chulucanas, Peru, where I worked as a computer teacher at a technical institute called CETPRO Betania. I have previously tutored a broad range of subjects and age groups, and I have especially enjoyed working with students to develop their writing skills. I tutor ACT Test prep and English with a focus on critical reading and writing skills. I am passionate about learning and I try to impart a love of learning to my students. In my spare time I enjoy painting, playing the piano, and reading.

I am a 2023 graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a Finance/Economics major and a minor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. I am a passionate student in the math and business realms, as I enjoy the intuitiveness of the former and the real-world potential of the latter. During classes in middle and high school, I developed a reputation of being a good source of help within my classes in a non-tutor capacity, and grew that into a peer tutor role a couple times a week during lunch my senior year of high school. What I hope to accomplish with my tutoring is ensure that you not only achieve your desired grade/score, but see how the different concepts relate to each other in the bigger picture. The more important part is to critically think about the subject matter in other, more unfamiliar contexts. Also, in my math subjects, I seek to provide personal secrets in realms including quicker computation strategies, unique acronyms for certain rules, and other intuitive shortcuts.

I have been teaching 2nd Grade for over three years and substitute taught K - 8 this past fall. I have taught in Indiana, Mississippi, and California. I have a passion for education and setting my students up for success. Education is very important to me. I love finding new ways to teach subjects that keep my students engaged and interested.

I've been a test prep and individual tutor for over 15 years. My training is as a school psychologist; I consider it a strength of mine to be able to work with and to identify individual learning styles and to adjust accordingly. I particularly love teaching ACT/SAT math. I aim to connect students to other own learning styles so they can make them work for them.

I went abroad to London for a semester during my junior year, studying business as well as the social sciences. During the 7.5 semesters I spent on-campus, I tutored elementary, middle, and high school students at a local community center. I have a college degree in Physics and a graduate degree in Biology. I love to see students gain an understanding of the material through examples related to the world around us.I have had experience teaching as a substitute from 1st through 12th grade, including many assignments with students with developmental disabilities, where I was able to work with these students more on an individual basis. I have also taught many undergraduate laboratory classes in physics and biology. These courses provide a great opportunity to work one-on-one with students who need some extra help and to make sure that everyone is comfortable with the topic being examined.I believe that students gain a better understanding and appreciation for the material when they are led to the answer through questions and examples rather than just being told how to answer the question or perform the calculation. Although I have mostly taught at the college level, I have experience teaching students at all grade levels and enjoy helping students learn regardless of their current knowledge or ability in a particular subject.I enjoy interacting with students of all ages and helping them understand a subject, especially when they are having difficulties. I think many students who dislike school or a particular subject because they are not good at it or do not get it. The reason they are not good at it is likely because they have not spent the time or had the individual attention they need to be successful. I enjoy being able to spend the time to answer questions and ultimately help the student get to the answer on their own. When they can do this, they gain a much deeper appreciation for the thing they are studying. It is also great to see a student come to an understanding of the topic after they are given some information or strategies they did not have before.
