I received my Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and English from Converse College in 2007. I was a Computer Science minor and and undergraduate Computer Science tutor during my senior year. I received my Master of Science in Mathematical Sciences from Clemson University in 2009, where I was both a graduate teaching assistant and a graduate research assistant before becoming a graduate teacher of record. My area of specialty is Algebra/Operations Research. I presented my research at FAU during the Southeastern International Conference on Combinatorics, Graph Theory, and Computing two consecutive years, 2008 and 2009. Since graduation, I have spent over three years teaching Mathematics at the college/university level. I recently relocated to Houston, Texas, where I intend to continue teaching, tutoring, and mentoring. I have worked with third through fifth grade students with reading difficulties for nearly 10 years. I am primarily a Mathematics tutor, but my first love is English, and I truly enjoy working with students in Computer Science as well. Since my MS from Clemson is a breadth degree, I am an expert in all six areas of Mathematics. My goal is to turn negative attitudes towards difficult subjects into positive attitudes with accomplishment and understanding on the part of my students. I am a firm proponent of education, believing that your education is the only thing that is ever truly yours. Once you attain knowledge it is yours for life, unlike material possessions which come and go. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, yoga, walking, and watching movies.

I am a full time teacher experienced in preparing students for the ACTs and SATs, as well as various other academic subjects. I am passionate about ensuring that students not only know the content, but completely master the topic and develop strategies to do better all around. I am also very passionate about the performing arts and literacy.

I have taught 6th and 7th grade throughout my six years in the classroom, and I have also coached cheerleaders. My educational background includes a bachelor's degree in dance and another in history, along with a master's degree in teaching from Converse University. I earned my undergraduate degree from Coker University. I currently tutor ELA and Social Studies for all grade levels, with a particular passion for Social Studies. I love sharing the stories of historical events and aim to help students feel a sense of accomplishment, regardless of where they begin. I truly believe that students are capable of much more than they realize, and it is my job to help them uncover their potential by tailoring my approach to meet each student's unique needs. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy crafting activities like embroidery and diamond painting. I also love spending time with my husband and son, and we often watch baseball and gymnastics together.

I have always loved school and have always had a passion for helping others. From a very young age, I especially loved to read, not only for myself but to others. I look forward to working with students and helping them to reach their goals, whatever they may be.

I have been teaching for thirteen years and enjoy working with all types of students from elementary all the way to college. My passion is to help students grow in their knowledge. I received my Bachelors of Science in Secondary Education Social Science from the University of Pikeville. After obtaining my bachelor's degree I went on to attain my Masters in Education and Supervision from Converse College. Finally, I am in the process of completing my second master's degree from Arizona State University in History with a specialization in North American History. I teach most Social Studies subjects to most levels of students and also test prep. I enjoy teaching many other subjects as well. I look forward to working with you as your tutor.

I received my K-12 education in Spartanburg, SC District #6. I graduated from Dorman High School and am still VERY proud to call myself a Cavalier. From Dorman, I went to Winthrop University (college at the time I attended) and received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Education. At that time in history, there was a teacher overage and I was out of school working temporary jobs when I decided to go back to school for my Master's Degree. I attended Converse College in Spartanburg, SC and received a Master's Degree in Special Education. I am currently seeking an Ed.S. from East Carolina University in Educational Leadership.I have been in education for 27 years and have taught students from ages 4-84. My favorite subject to tutor is accounting. I LOVE accounting. It makes sense to me. I have a minor in accounting, but choose to go the education route in undergraduate. I believe that education gives one what one puts in. I have worked with very smart students who were lazy and did poorly in the academic arena and students who were not so smart but worked hard and were very successful in their academics.Outside of the academic world, I love to go camping and sit and read. Over Memorial Day, my family and I went to the beach and in two days, I read two complete books. I was in my happy place.

I am a graduate of Converse College and I have 9 years experience with working with children ages 4 through 14. I have worked in both the elementary and middle school settings as a special education teacher. I believe that all children are capable of reaching their goals when provided with the right supports that fit them. I also believe that learning should be a fun experience!

I am a proud graduate of Converse College in Spartanburg, SC. I majored in both Mathematics and Spanish and minored in Secondary Math Education. I taught high school math for 3 years and spent a year as a math interventionist. The last year i have enjoyed being a stay at home mom, but definitely miss working with students. Throughout my college and professional career, I have tutored both privately and publically. I love education and feel passionately about learning.
