Hi my name is Keegan Fernandes and Im a third year medical student. I love teaching a variety of subjects but my favorite subject is Biology. Hopefully we can learn a few things and make it an interactive process.

I studied film as an undergraduate at the University of Iowa. My love of the arts took me to California where I worked for the San Francisco Jazz Festival, a literary magazine, and an online greeting card company. I moved to Japan to teach English and stayed for three years, smitten by living overseas in a fascinating culture. I spent two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Africa, helping teachers create student-centered classrooms. I then came back to North Carolina and taught high school English for seven years. But the travel fever returned...I moved to Ecuador and taught in a private school while tutoring university faculty members in English during the evenings. I also worked at the American International School of Egypt in Cairo, where I learned to scuba dive in the Red Sea! Finally, I worked at a private school in Mumbai, India. I have worked and had training in the International Baccalaureate curriculum, the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum, as well the Common Core/US standards. I have tutored students in preparation for various exams, including the IELTS, ACT, and SAT. I love books of many different genres, especially graphic novels. I tend to believe that education should be fun and that laughter is great approach to success. I am happy to be back in the Raleigh/Durham area and I hope that I can help you reach your educational goals!
I'm a fourth year medical student and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I received a double degree in Public Policy and Information Science. I have taken and tutored for Step 1, Level 1, Step 2 (Scored 26X), and Level 2. Post college, I completed a two-year teaching fellowship with Teach for America where I taught middle school math in the morning and took pre-med courses in the evening. I love teaching through empowering learners, and believe standardized testing is dependent on both a trained skill and deeply understood content. I love baking, reading, and digital art in my free time
Learning was never something that came easy to me. Over time, I figured out the best ways to cover material and get work done, fast! Let me help you get ahead and succeed in the first session.About me: Obtained a Masters in Education from Campbell University (3.9 GPA) and became an adjunct professor in the exercise science department. I've worked as a sports therapist for college athletic programs for almost 10 years. As a lifelong student, I recently went back to pursue my MBA (3.8 GPA). I value integrity and trust in my professional relationships with students. I approach teaching with a coach-like mentality and believe everyone has the capability to achieve great things! Let's do this!
I have completed an undergraduate degree in premed biology and am currently an osteopathic medical student. I have been working as a teaching assistant for the past three years, and tutor for general chemistry (my favorite!), general biology, and anatomy and physiology. I do my best to help each student move past whatever they may be struggling with, whether it is subject content or study skills.Everything is hard before you understand it, but easy after you understand it. My motto in my tutoring sessions is, "Where hard becomes easy!"
As a Family Medicine resident and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Campbell University, I am deeply passionate about teaching and committed to helping students excel in Anatomy and Physiology. My tutoring experience, though relatively new, has allowed me to develop a personalized approach that emphasizes clear explanations and practical applications of complex concepts. I believe that understanding the human body is not just about memorization; it's about making connections to real-life clinical scenarios that can ignite a genuine interest in the subject. I am eager to support your academic journey, whether you aim to improve your grades, prepare for entrance exams, or solidify your understanding of foundational topics. Together, we can transform Anatomy and Physiology into a strength that will serve you well in your future endeavors.
Hola! My name is Amy Vibart Caseres, and I'm a passionate Spanish tutor dedicated to helping students of all levels gain confidence and fluency in one of the most beautiful languages in the world. I was born in the United States and raised in Argentina, so Spanish is not only my native language it's part of my culture, my identity, and my daily life. Growing up in a bilingual environment has given me a deep understanding of how to make Spanish learning both practical and enjoyable for English speakers. In my classes, I focus on real communication, cultural connection, and personalized learning. Whether you're preparing for travel, improving pronunciation, or mastering grammar for academic or professional goals, I adapt each lesson to your needs and learning style. Beyond language, I love sharing the richness of Latin American culture, from music and traditions to expressions that make Spanish feel alive. My goal is to help you not just study Spanish, but truly live it. If you're looking for a patient, encouraging tutor who will guide you step by step while keeping lessons dynamic and meaningful I'd love to be part of your journey. Vamos a aprender juntos!
As a passionate educator with over seven years of classroom experience, five years as a museum educator and two years of tutoring, I am dedicated to helping students develop their analytical skills in social studies by bringing history to life through engaging narratives. With a Bachelor's degree in History from N.C. State and a Master of Divinity from Campbell University, I specialize in a wide range of subjects, including AP U.S. History, AP World History, AP US Government and World Religions. My teaching philosophy centers on meeting students where they are in their academic journey, fostering a supportive environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking. I believe that understanding the stories of the past not only enriches students' knowledge but also empowers them to make informed connections to the present and future.
I'm a relationship-first educator who helps students feel seen, capable, and clear on what to do next. As a Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teacher and Department Chair, I've guided diverse learners in cybersecurity, coding, and robotics by pairing empathy with structure: clear goals, small steps, and frequent feedback. I honor IEP/504 supports, use data to target gaps, and turn abstract ideas into practical, hands-on learning. In sessions we model, practice, and "teach-back" to build confidence and independence. I also coach study habits and test strategies so success lasts beyond our time together. My promise: your student will feel supported, challenged, and proud of their progress.
I am a Family Medicine Physician Assistant with a strong background in Orthopedics. I am a member of the Phi Alpha Honor Society for Physician Assistants. I am a lifelong learner who loves to work with others to achieve their educational and professional goals.
I am a graduate of Campbell University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education while also being involved in campus ministries/missions. I have taught for 7 years with experience in upper elementary grades and music. My greatest passion in teaching is unlocking the potential in every student and witnessing their "Aha!' moments. While I enjoy teaching all content areas, my greatest enjoyment is teaching math.
When I was younger, I viewed education as a great leveler, allowing people to move from lower economic groupings to higher ones, but now, I view education as the creator of a wider path for personal and professional improvement that motivates individuals to move past where they might have stopped. For example, it is good to be a skilled gardener, but today, people are not only gardeners but also landscape designers, public space architects, and private garden builders for large estates. Education is one of the most valuable aids people have as they pursue their dreams and goals and is the reason I teach. As a first-generation college graduate, I earned a BA from UNC Greensboro in theatre arts, speech communications, and English education. My Masters in English is from Campbell University; however, I have never stopped going to school. I spent a most interesting summer studying theatre at Northwestern University, and one of my best memories is from a science class at Western Carolina where I learned to sniff spiders. Over the past forty years, I have worked with students from around the world. My ESL and Academically Gifted certifications allow me to use many styles. I like being casual but know the value of formality. I love theatre and art and use them often in English class, but humans communicate everywhere and take in information at alarming rates, so the need to excel in written communication is greatest.
