About Me

"I CAN DO ANY AND EVERYTHING THAT I PUT MY MIND TO"This is the motto that I live by and the motto that I would like to embed into my students. I have been teaching at the high school level for 8 years. I have taught Math 1 for all eight years, Math 2 for two of those years, and a semester worth of Math 3. I have my bachelor's degree in education and a Masters in teaching and learning. The biggest difficulty I see students struggle with is the confidence to attack a particular problem. If I can teach different strategies of solving a problem while building their confidence, they will when every time.

My teaching philosophy is more student lead than teaching lead. I do not want to waste time teaching students what they know and not focus in on the parts that they need to know. Therefore, I'd rather the students work out the problems and allow for me to see what they know how to do, and I can better assist them with how to get through the parts they do not know.
