Hello, my name is Malia. I have an MBA from one of the best business schools in the world and a process engineering degree. I have 8 years of experience tutoring and teaching math and French from elementary through college. I always make sure to create a friendly environment and to incorporate real world examples to help students deepen their understanding.

I love engaging with students to connect each person's natural curiosity and interest with an understanding of new subjects (my expertise is finance). I taught a college level seminar for several semesters focused on teaching finance to students in the Arts & Entertainment world. I have an MBA with a concentration in finance (I received the Outstanding Graduate in Finance Award) and earned the CFA charter. I love teaching finance. My approach to teaching is to make subjects that are often abstract, seemingly complicated, and difficult, accessible and engaging through connections each student has with the material and to real world applications. My desire to help students achieve academic goals stems from my own experience taking the SAT. When I first took the SAT, after some practice, I scored a 1330/1600 or a 1820/2400. Although these were not bad scores, I knew I could do better and after hours of self-teaching I increased my scores to 1550/1600 and 2250/2400.Supposedly, the SAT is meant to be a pseudo-IQ test, but I don't think that's true. I believe with the right strategies and hard work, SAT scores can be significantly improved.A little background about me: I recently graduated Babson College with a degree in Finance, Summa Cum Laude. In October I will begin my full-time job as a data analytics consultant in NYC helping big banks with their data. Until I begin working, I hope to help students achieve their academic goals. Academic success has helped me achieve my career goals, and I would like to help other students too!

I have graduated from the Leffell School in Hartsdale, NY and I am currently working towards a Bachelor of Science degree at Babson College in Massachusetts. Within my degree, I plan to concentrate in entrepreneurship and I am very passionate about business. I have been passionate about helping students since I worked with Reading Partners in Washington D.C. I have always loved math, but as I got older it got more difficult and discouraged me. I wish that I had reached out for help and I am excited to do this for other students. I am currently tutoring in algebra and SAT prep. My teaching style varies depending on the student, what matters to me is how they learn best. I will do everything I can to accommodate each student in this and I am very excited to work with them.

I am an undergraduate business student at Babson College. For years, I have tutored a variety of subjects from writing to accounting. In high school, I participated in volunteer tutoring through the National Honors Society. Even other involvements, such as coaching the debate team, taught me how to convey information and reach understanding with others. As a college student, I am paid to tutor Accounting and teach entrepreneurship and often find myself running study groups among peers.Having recently gone through it, I am very familiar with the college admissions process and all its challenges, including AP tests, the PSAT, the SAT, and application essays.What motivates me is the success of my tutees. Everybody needs help once in a while, and there is no greater feeling than finally understanding a concept you have been struggling with. I understand that no two people learn in the same way, so I emphasize flexibility in my teaching. With some dedication, there is truly no subject that cannot be mastered. Any lesson from me includes tips on note taking, study skills, and test-taking, which I believe are the foundations of academic achievement.Although I am studying business, I firmly believe in the power of creativity in all its forms. I love reading and writing, graphic design, and even participate in a ceramics workshop. Another passion is, of course, teaching — and it is this passion that I bring to every session, online or in person.

I am currently a second year student at Babson College, studying for a bachelors of science degree in business with a concentration in finance and entrepreneurship. I am a motivated student and have taken the highest level of courses possible in both high school and my first year of college. I am a very mathematically minded person so I have a deep understanding of numbers which will help me effectively teach math based courses. I am a Haitian-American who grew up in Miami, Florida. I studied business in Undergrad and then Medicine at FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. I like tutoring students of all ages. When I teach, I always go back to the basics before moving forward. It's important for students to "truly get it." I also like to add repetition into my teaching style, while keeping it fun. I like telling stories of the places that I've been; I've been to over 10 countries. I am a light-hearted person who enjoys watching the NBA, playing tennis, and reading.

I am a junior at Babson College working towards my Bachelors in Business Administration concentrating in Marketing and Legal Studies. Since my freshman year of high school, I have tutored those from the ages four and up. I was a teacher for Kindergarteners, 1st and 2nd graders at a summer camp for two years and also tutored my peers throughout high school in various subjects. I recently graduated from Babson College with a bachelor's in Science. I was born in the Dominican Republic. I moved to the United States when I was eight years. Throughout my education career, I worked in a variety of different fields. The one thing that remained the same for me, was my mission to help others.I enjoy helping others because seeing them happy, makes me happy. In high school, I decided to run my own tutoring services, where I helped middle schoolers with their language levels, both English and Spanish. I also tutored in the math field. When it came to Algebra, I also frequently tutored my high school friends. One efficient strategy that worked for me was having the person I tutored, tutor me back. Having them teach me how to solve a problem, or how to pronounce or say something correctly, showed me if they learned something, or were still confused.I consider myself to be an outgoing person. Someone who likes to meet new people. I also liked solving problems. Combining these two, was where my passion for teaching began. When I was younger, I wanted to be a math teacher.
