About Me

I am a graduate of Abilene Christian University, where I received a Bachelor's in Nursing Science. Since becoming an RN I have practiced nursing in multiple states at faculties like Vanderbilt and UNC. I have worked in variety of different nursing specialties such as ICU, Burn (Adult and Pediatric), Transplant, Cardiac Care and Neurology. I also completed 140 hours of NICU training. One of my favorite parts of being a nurse has been the opportunity to precept, mentor and prepare new nurses and nursing students for this awesome profession. My interest in the sciences became insatiable in high school as I tackled my first Anatomy and Physiology class, and led me to further my education in courses such as Advanced Anatomy and Physiology I and II, Microbiology, Biology, and Health Science. After being accepted to nursing school I focused on Pharmacology, Ethical Nursing, Medical Surgical Concepts, Critical Care Concepts, Pathophysiology and more. I have extensive knowledge of NCLEX preparation and remember fondly the days spent studying in perpetuity to do well on the exam. I think two of the most important parts of learning are foundational knowledge and confidence in yourself. Often times they go hand in hand and I like to build on both of those skills as we master any content :)
