My name is Ametha Williams and I have been a public school teacher for 15 years. I am certified to teach in grades K-6, Middle School Science grades 7-8, English grades 7-12, Math grades 7-12, and History grades 7-12. The bulk of my educational experience has been teaching Math and Science in grades K-6. During my time as an elementary and middle school teacher, I was chair of the Math and Science departments where part of my duties involved organizing after-school tutoring programs for students who were at risk of failing. I believe that all students can learn and achieve, it is up to teachers to provide students with the support needed to reach their goals.

I am about to graduate from Loyola University Chicago with a Bachelor's degree in Communications Studies. For the past 6 summers, I have been a camp counselor working with kids aged 4-12. I have always enjoyed working with kids and think it is something I excel at. I am currently tutoring in a number of areas, I am most passionate and knowledgable in all areas of English and in U.S. History. I am also a great tutor for most subjects K-6. I believe that education is for everyone and that everyone deserves to feel like they belong in the academic world. I am a current medical student who enjoys working with kids and tutoring. Medical school can get a lot, but teaching has become one of my hobbies over the years. I am most passionate about learning through research and have been a part of multiple projects on stem cell research and machine learning. My name is Ashish and I am second year Biology Honors student at the University of Texas at Austin. My passion for teaching originated with my passion for discovery in a medical research lab. I believe that every student should learn as much as they can to further develop those ideas into new, novel discoveries. As a current student, I understand how frustrating and difficult material can sometimes be. I have 2-3 years teaching experience in a variety of fields, including college level math, biology, chemistry, physics, test prep (ACT/SAT), and college admissions/essay writing.

I received a B.S. degree in Chemistry and Biology at Valparaiso University (3.7 GPA). I have been tutoring students for 6+ years. I primarily tutor students in middle and high school science and math. My favorite subjects to tutor are chemistry and biology. I have previous experience as a teaching assistant for the chemistry department as well as a peer mentor for the general chemistry course at Valparaiso University. In addition, I began my college career as a secondary education major and have completed coursework in several education courses with classroom fieldwork before ultimately switching majors to pursue my passion in science. Currently, I am a second year PhD student at UT Southwestern-Medical Center located in Dallas, TX.My teaching philosophy is that every student has the capability to be successful; however, every student learns differently. I tutor to cater to each individual by understanding how they learn best. I often guide students through problems such that they learn how to take the proper steps to arrive at the answer themselves. When appropriate, I ask plenty of questions to get students thinking and make connections to their interests to make learning fun. My goal is to have students start thinking of questions and making connections on their own to develop life long learning habits!
