My experience also includes the establishing and maintaining of several business ventures so that my knowledge of the American business scene is not just book learning.My favorite subject to tutor is in the humanities, especially in religion. I find that students add a perspective to the belief systems that is unique and often challenging. My own education included many humanities courses, along with history and social sciences, and was completed in New York state.I am comfortable working with students of all ages and in all subjects, and I hope to help students achieve comfort, confidence, and peace of mind within their studies.

I am passionate about education and seeing people grow into fully mature and knowledgeable individuals. Learning is a privilege and the tools and resources we have available to us in the United States are such a gift. I believe that math is such an important part of our everyday world and develops critical thinking and problem solving. I ran an after school Math Academy program at my school to help my students become confident mathematicians. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University, with a minor in teaching English as a second language. I am passionate about helping every student develop an identity as a successful learner. My tutoring style is upbeat and encouraging with multiple ways to experience and interact with content. I believe that learning can and should be fun and engaging for students!

While my undergraduate work focused on Elementary Education and Visual Art (I am an artist, too, and love creating visual art), my graduate work focused on School Leadership, with a focus in Principalship. I've worked as an educator in Southern Arizona for many years, including in the border town of Naco, Sonora, Mexico. I love empowering students to understand and tackle Mathematics, and to see the connections between Math, Visual Art, and everyday life. I am currently a kindergarten teacher. I have been teaching kindergarten for 9 years. Before that I taught 4th grade for also 9 years. I have my Master's Degree in Special Education.
