I am a college professor of business with strengths in Marketing, Management and International Business. Before teaching I was in marketing manager of consumer brands on a global basis. I will discuss theories, but always connected to the real business world.

I am a recent graduate from SUNY Albany with a bachelor's degree in biological sciences and business administration minor. I enjoy learning about most science and math courses.During my undergraduate studies, I was given the opportunity to tutor students from elementary to high school as a part of a work study program. I really enjoyed tutoring students in areas of difficulty and making a difference in their academic progress. It also gave me a great way to review material I took in the past.I have also translated Arabic for over four years at elementary, middle, and high schools throughout the capital region. I assisted in translating official NY state examinations, including the Common Core and Regents Exams, so I am very familiar with their formats and can help students on how to go about solving difficult questions.

I love teaching. I have been a tutor in various subjects since my freshman year of high school when I tutored students in Pre-Calculus. Since then, I have always been a math tutor and have continued to tutor in other subjects as well, including Spanish and U.S. history as well as tests such as the SAT and ACT. I have also tutored students from ages 5-17.My teaching philosophy entails a lot of practice and self-discovery. From my own experiences with challenging subjects, I know that going the extra mile by doing more practice problems than are actually assigned or watching videos on certain concepts helps reinforcement and allows students to thrive in the classroom. As a tutor, I like to guide students in the correct direction and help them gain footing when learning a new subject; however, I also like to give students independence so they can determine their best method for learning.

I graduated from Emory University in May 2012 with a B.S. in Chemistry. My current work in air pollution research utilizes the various concepts in Math and Science that I love to teach and learn. I am currently applying to medical schools and helping other students meet their academic goals by tutoring for the MCAT and other Pre-med courses. I have found that trying to study something that you're not interested in can sometimes be an act of futility. I like to find ways to engage my students with their studies in ways that are exciting and inspiring. Math and science are the keys to understanding the world around us and they can be very captivating subjects when you discover how they relate to the things that you find fascinating.

Tutoring kids of many ages throughout my high school experience I tend to enjoy seeing other people succeed and master topics they didn't know prior. Currently obtaining my computer science degree at the University of Houston, most STEM courses come easy to me. Planning your work material on how you're going to present the material to your student is essential in getting the best out of them. Not only is it important to understand the student you're tutoring, but adjusting the teaching style to help the student learn the best is something I ensure when dealing with anyone. I want every student that I come across to be fully confident with the material being presented to them.

I am a student of the Stevens Institute of Technology and am currently pursuing my Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering. As the oldest sibling in a family of 4 brothers and sisters, I know what it is like to have someone depend on me, and how to help them succeed. I have the ability and patience to teach those younger than me about topics I have mastered throughout my schooling. I love to talk and have a bad habit of making friends with everyone I meet! I love teaching and seeing my students improve over time, like watching my own children grow up. The subject I am most passionate about teaching is math, math, and math! Seeing different equations and variables click together to make a coherent, objective statement is always fun to see, and it is fun teaching my students how to understand this in the grand scheme of life. When I am not going crazy for equations, I am reading long fantasy novels, gaming, or improving my tennis play.

I currently tutor for the following subjects; violin, viola, piano, classical music theory, jazz theory, improvisation, composition/arranging and Japanese. I did my extra credit in high school teaching G5 band kids, and I was also hired from the college to tutor on some of these subjects (music theory and Japanese) as well, so I have 10+ years of experience teaching. I enjoy working with students of all ages and levels, and I grew up in 4 different countries so I have worked with people from different countries as well. I try to get the big picture during my first lesson and plan a rough class plan that works best for the student, so I do not have a set materials/go-to plan, after all, each student has different goals and learning curves and a good instructor is able to adjust accordingly. I like to be surprised by how much the students grow and that is what I strive to achieve through my lessons. Other than that, I love to cook.
