I'm a freshman at Stanford University pursuing a degree in mathematical and computational science. I've been tutoring students from grades 3-12 throughout high school, and I look forward to continue in college. Nothing excites me more than learning something new, and I strive to share my excitement with my tutees.

I am currently a student at Yale University. I'm a prospective Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology major on the pre-med track. Throughout high school, I have tutored students in a vast variety of subjects through National Honors Society. I have also worked with ESL students through Spanish Honors Society. As a college student, I have taught various interactive science subjects to New Haven elementary students over zoom as part of the Demos organization. In addition to academic subjects, I have also privately tutored students in violin. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Math and English. In my experience, helping students prepare for Standardized Tests and classroom subjects is the most rewarding. It's unforgettable to see a student's tangible progress, and to help them conquer their difficulties!!

I am a math enthusiast who is passionate about helping students gain confidence and achieve. I began tutoring other students in middle school and continued throughout high school. I believe all students have the potential to understand math, but they can be intimated or have trouble finding the learning method that works for them. With my extensive experience tutoring students of various age groups through different mediums, I have seen how my emphasis on building a strong foundation and understanding how concepts/formulas work, patience, and encouragement helped students see math in an approachable manner. I participated and scored well in various math competitions throughout high school. Additionally, I am experienced in high school standardized test preparation. I am also a native Mandarin speaker.

I'm a recent graduate of Harvard University, I've been tutoring for about five years now. I come from a public high school of 240 students in middle-of-nowhere rural Connecticut. Plain and simple: I wouldn't have made it to Harvard without finding a way to enjoy studying for the SATs and other tests. My goal is to share that enthusiasm with my students. The test might be frustrating, and it might seem pointless, but I insist that every hour spent on SAT prep is a priceless investment in your future. (...and I have an economics minor!) I am in the process now of applying for PhD programs in Computational Biology. I have done research in the field of freshwater ecology and am anticipating the publication of a paper I co-authored in the next several months.

I am planning now to shift to a more educational career. Last year I worked at a small tutoring center, and I decided to branch out even more and work here.

I'm currently a student at Northeastern University. Originally from Tennessee, I attended an all-male boarding and day school for high school, and was given a lot of opportunities to pursue advanced coursework and opportunities that weren't available to 99% of students in the area. As a result, I've joined Varsity Tutors as an effort to give back and try to help students get excited about learning various subjects, employing many of the methods that allowed me to succeed. While I tutor a wide range of subjects, I am most passionate about standardized test prep, math (all levels), writing, and economics.
