I am a graduate of the University of Kansas, with bachelor's degrees in biology and environmental studies. While I am fascinated by the natural world, I also have interests in other fields, such as literature, philosophy, and foreign languages. One of the reasons I like tutoring is because it allows me to use what I have learned in such fields to help others gain confidence in and become excited about a subject. I especially love to tutor in French, which I studied at the Universit du Havre and minored in during college. I believe that curiosity is the most important ingredient in learning. As a tutor, I ask questions to help students come to right answers on their own, and I show students how to ask their own questions as well. I believe in giving my students resources that help them continue learning after tutoring is finished and throughout their lives. In addition, using my knowledge of science, math, the arts, and the humanities, I make connections between different subjects to help my students see how what we're working on isn't so strange after all! Before beginning to work with Varsity Tutors in August of 2014, I worked in a K-8 school as an intervention math teacher. There, I tutored elementary- and middle-school students in math in small groups. Working in that setting taught me more about how to explain abstract concepts simply and creatively, and about how to use quizzes and evaluations to track student progress. During college, I helped my peers learn French both individually and in small groups; and most recently, I worked as an English language teacher in France, helping small groups of middle- and high-schoolers put their language learning into practice by organizing projects, conversations, and debates. In my free time, I like to read, write, draw, and learn about topics of interest such as Spanish and world literature.

As of August 2025, I currently serve as a postdoctoral research fellow in the Vanderbilt University Medical Center Music Cognition Laboratory and maintain TN state licensure as an ASHA-certified pediatric audiologist (CCC-A). In May 2015, I graduated from the University of Connecticut with my Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences and Psychology (Honors Scholar; Summa Cum Laude). I recently earned my Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in May 2024 through the Vanderbilt Graduate Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences, after obtaining my Vanderbilt School of Medicine Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree in May 2019 on the pediatric specialty track for management of childhood hearing loss. Over the next several years, I intend to continue my career as a translational clinician-researcher, with a specific focus on child development, early intervention, newborn hearing screenings, aural rehabilitation, assistive technology, auditory neuroscience, psychosocial skills/language growth for youth with hearing loss, advocacy for families with multiple disabilities, and enhancing healthcare access to underserved communities.

I love seeing students begin to understand a new subject or skill. Nothing is more encouraging and motivating to me than seeing students and myself learn together, dive into problems, and find ways to solve them.

I believe that all learning begins with curiosity; if a first little spark of interest can be kindled, understanding will soon follow. During my time spent serving as a volunteer tutor during both my high school and undergraduate years, I was able to help many students increase their knowledge of History, English Literature, and Grammar. Additionally, I was also able to help others gain the skill sets necessary for accomplished essay writing and SAT Verbal Test Preparation. My goal is to always guide the student towards a deeper comprehension of the subject matter, with development of the corresponding techniques and sense of confidence necessary for success.

I'm a college student at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. I am in my junior year of a computer science degree. Outside of classes, I work as a college tour guide, IT technician, and camp counselor. I love working with young people to plan for and achieve success, especially as it pertains to test and college prep. I have been working with young people from an early age, at summer camps, church groups, and as a part of my college's admissions department. I've devoted my personal and professional time to diversity and storytelling, starting at public TV station WETA in my hometown outside Washington, D.C., where I was certified as a trainer with Sesame Street's Preschool Education Project. I've also taught creativity and teambuilding through improvisation to all ages (as well as creating a kids summer camp), reading for the SAG Foundations BookPALS (Performing Artists for Literacy in Schools) program, plus reading and writing skills to at-risk students through the Park District's Kraft Great Kids Program. I graduated from the Honors College of Rutgers University-New Brunswick in May 2022, earning a B.A. in Cell Biology and Neuroscience with Honors and minors in Philosophy, Chinese, and Music. As a 100 percentile scorer on the March 2022 MCAT, I am able to help students prepare for the exam, and have particular strengths in CARS, psychology/sociology, biochemistry, and biology.
