Certified Tutor

With a background in education and the social sciences, I bring over two decades of experience working with learners across a wide range of ages, academic levels, and goals. I have served as a classroom teacher, school building leader, college instructor, and private tutor. Each of these roles has strengthened my commitment to helping students succeed by building confidence, sharpening skills, and fostering a love of learning.

I'm especially passionate about tutoring writing, math, and the social sciences. These subjects invite students to explore ideas, ask meaningful questions, and develop the tools to express themselves clearly and powerfully. One of my favorite parts of tutoring is helping students discover their voice, whether through essay writing, text analysis, or thoughtful discussion.

My tutoring style is responsive, patient, and engaging. I believe every student deserves a learning environment where they feel safe to make mistakes and are encouraged to grow. I adapt my approach based on the student's learning style, pace, and personal interests, always aiming to make our sessions meaningful and motivating.

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading, writing, listening to music, exploring new cities, and staying active. I believe learning should be challenging but never boring, and I bring that spirit to every session I lead.
