My ambition is to one day become a teacher. I have had experience in college by currently getting a bachelors in education. I have done tutoring with after school programs like the YMCA and I have done personal one on one teaching. I have done daycare learning curriculum based. My experience has allowed a passion of teaching to come into my heart and mind.

All my life, I was always curious about how the human body work. A growing interest in understanding the origin, growth, and function of living species led me to major in Biology. I started at Miami Dade College as pre-med and transfer to Florida International University (FIU) where I received my bachelor of Sciences in Biology major. While I was attending FIU I worked as a Peer-Led Tutoring Leader at MDC, where I guided and mentored students who struggled with mathematics, chemistry, and biology. My experience tutoring other student help me understand the materials better by trying different techniques for problem solving. I also enhanced my interpersonal, communication, and team-building abilities and improved my leadership skills. After graduating from FIU, I felt the need to enhance my science background by enrolling to the Biomedical Science program at Barry University. Tutoring others helped me to extend my knowledge and be able to build my ability to get involve, and demonstrate my compassion and commitment in these areas. My interest in science and my natural curiosities to the well-being of others are the reasons that I enjoyed tutoring.Besides tutoring, I enjoy traveling and learn about different culture, and also play soccer.

For as long as I can remember, I have had the same goal. I want to work with children to help them grow as learners. Since I began my journey as a teacher, I have enjoyed working with students on their learning journey. I believe that one of the greatest moments as a teacher is helping a student to succeed through their struggles and have a light bulb moment. As a teacher, my goal is to help develop students who are confident in themselves and the work that they create. I received a Bachelors in Elementary Education and a Masters in Curriculum and Development Leadership from Liberty University. Currently, I am an elementary teacher teaching second grade. I am a licensed teacher in Virginia for both elementary and middles school. Along with classroom experience, I have a variety of in person and online tutoring experience. One on one tutoring is a unique experience that is catered to the individual child's needs and goals. This provides the opportunity for instruction to be develop based on the child and specifically for the child. No two tutoring sessions are the same because no two tutoring clients are the same.

I am passionate about helping students because I think it is important to take ownership of your learning and part of that is being able to find help when needed. I have been tutoring online for a few years. I got my BA in psychology at Christopher Newport University and my MA in applied psychology at Liberty University. My favorite subject to tutor is research methods and statistics for psychology. I enjoy the topics and have experience presenting concepts in a way that makes them easier to understand. I would describe my teaching/ tutoring style as accessible and approachable. It is important to meet students where they are at and help them see that challenging concepts don't have to be so scary.

I am a recent graduate of The University of Hawaii at Manoa. Go Warriors! I received my Bachelors of Environmental Design and Certificate of French in May of 2014. I have been working with children and young adults for over ten years. My experience counseling in an after school program for elementary aged children has helped me understand the psyche and concentration levels of this age group. I have worked with children who have had ADD/ADHD, and understand and am compassionate about the level of support needed to complete assignments and work towards finishing projects. While I am certified to tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Elementary Math, Essay Writing, and Homework Support. In my experience tutoring these subjects, my students creatively retained information through the multi-sensory approach I try to implement. I am a patient teacher and can motivate a student with out of the box problem solving while instilling an emphasis on the importance of organization. In my spare time, my husband and I enjoy camping with our dog, growing vegetables in our garden, and working out at our local gym.

I help learners develop the cognitive, language, physical, and social skills required to be successful. I help inspire learners to develop the self-confidence required to succeed in school and in life. I make learning fun! I support, encourage, engage, and cultivate creative minds. Empowering people to be their best selves is incredibly rewarding for me. As a young adult, it had been my plan to become a teacher. During my years at community college, I was a Mathematics Tutor to adults. After graduating Magna Cum Laude with a degree in History in 2000, I became a Substitute Teacher for a short time for special education and third grade classes. I enjoyed my tutoring and substitute teaching experiences very much.After college, I accepted a series of positions outside the education field. These roles included Claims Adjuster, Office Manager, Proposal Coordinator, Technical Editor, Graphic Designer, and Wedding Photographer. More recently, however, I have been working as a Substitute Teacher for students in Kindergarten through eighth grade. These more recent experiences have felt like a "coming home" for me.I love learning, and I've always enjoyed being immersed in academic environments. More importantly, I love helping others learn. I have the patience and compassion to help students who may be struggling with their studies. I also possess the creativity to challenge students who are ready to take their learning to the next level.
