I am currently a senior at Cornell University, pursuing a major in Industrial Labor Relations and minors in Philosophy as well as Italian. I've been fortunate enough to have teachers and professors throughout my life that were able to convey the importance of education while allowing students to discover their own passions within subjects. This is a method that I have carried with me, that has guided my experiences. While I tutor a variety of subjects, I am most passionate about economics, philosophy, and writing. Outside of the classroom, I do theatre as well as tennis. In my free time, I have an insatiable appetite for reading and writing (my favorite book is Tolstoy's War and Peace).

Math, sciences and language arts are important both for professional success and living a meaningful and fulfilling life. They are tools with which we can understand our true selves and the world around us. Therefore, helping students grasp the multitude of concepts in these disciplines is a way helping them manifest their potential, and that is a worthwhile endeavor.Prior to joining Varsity Tutors, I served as a tutor for classmates in high school. For the last for four years I have also mentored middle school students through weekly meetings aimed at improving their reading skills and powers of expression. I also help my middle school sister with math homework.I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Earth and Environmental Engineering at Columbia University and am currently working toward my Masters of Business Administration at the University of Southern California.Outside of the classroom I am passionate about driving social chance through business and community development.

I am currently an Associate Account Executive for Crystal & Company in the Employee Benefits department. While I was a student, I worked for 2 years as an in-home tutor for kids grades 6-12 and focused on study skills, organization and assistance with homework in math, English and Spanish and SAT preparation. During the fall of 2014 I worked with the TCU Athletics Department where I help the TCU Student-Athletes with Calculus and Economics. I enjoy tutoring both Math and English/writing because I am an analytical thinker and like to encourage students to challenge themselves and reach new goals. My liberal arts education has provided me with a strong core curriculum, allowing me to not just limit my studies to economics. Economics courses have allowed me to continually increase my mathematical knowledge, whether that be in applying calculus to economic situations or understanding statistics at the business level. I am very skilled at math and have confidence in teaching all grade levels. I attribute my personal success in taking the ACT to a tutor, inspiring me to join the Varsity Tutors team.
