I am a junior at Rollins College and I am majoring in computer science and philosophy. I am passionate about working with students because I want to share my love of learning with them. I can tutor students of all ages and grades especially k-12 age students.

I am a recent medical school graduate currently taking a research year. I used to tutor with Varsity Tutors before matriculating into medical school, and coming back to assist my fellow medical professionals with USMLE tutoring feels like somewhat of a homecoming. During my time with students, I feel like patience is one of the most important things when trying to get through to a student, and coincidentally, my name means 'patience is good' in my native language. I look forward to helping students understand what they never thought they would be able to master, and I feel a personal sense of accomplishment when I can help a student work through their apprehensions to get to this stage.

I am currently a senior at Florida International University and will be graduating this fall with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I plan on attending graduate school next year to receive a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology. Prior to becoming a psychology major, I was studying chemistry and used to be a tutor for this program that was available to students taking Introductory Chemistry at FIU. I am passionate about tutoring because I love seeing students understand material that they previously could not. Growing up, I never really enjoyed science until I reached high school. My biology teacher was the first person who I was actually able to learn from and having that experience, genuinely understanding the material from what was my weakest subject, completely changed how I felt about school. Academic success can lead to many opportunities and a bright future. I hope I can help students achieve their goals and feel that they are capable of succeeding in school!

I'm a psychology major at Queens College set to graduate at the end of this semester. I was previously a Chemical Engineering major, so I have experience in advanced mathematics and sciences. I have tutored students of all skill levels and am excited to be able to help more people learn.

I am a graduate of Belhaven College in Jackson, MS. I have degrees in Psychology and Elementary Education. I also have 32 hrs of Microbiology specific classes. I am currently working towards my ESE (Exceptional Student Education) certification. I also participated in and completed the University of Utah's Summer Genetics Institute, summer 2014. I have taught in Pasco Co. for 8 yrs. For most of those 8 yrs I have taught on a mostly individual basis. I tutor Biology, Life Science, Physical Science and Psychology. Biology is my favorite subject to tutor. I really enjoy genetics and showing students how genetics affects them. I believe that all students can learn, it just may take longer for some students than others or they may need it explained in a different manner. I try to use techniques that meet each learning style. I particularly enjoy hands on projects and watching/seeing what students come up with. I also enjoy the forensic side of science and using it to teach science concepts. In my spare time, I enjoy reading suspense novels, working in the yard- particularly the flower beds and caring for orchids, watching action movies and spending time with my family.

But each time I walked through a high school to present a workshop on writing college essays or preparing for college interviews, I was reminded of how deeply I still wanted to be in a classroom.So I took the plunge, and now spend my days teaching social studies to great students at a great school. I have taught world history, American history, sociology, psychology, economics, and even developed a high school course in teaching for students seeking a career in education. I am passionate about understanding how the past has shaped the present, and helping students recognize their critical role in protecting and preserving democracy.In addition to teaching course curricula, I work with students on writing skills, standardized test preparation, and college essays, because all of these skills will help them reach their academic goals. Becoming a physician was no easy feat, and neither were all those years of school and standardized tests along the way! But I didn't do it alone. I had tutors help me every step of the way. Not only did they help me to boost my grades, but they provided me with academic confidence and mentoring, all of which made me realize that my greatest goals could be a tangible reality. Now I couldn't be happier in my career as a surgeon in training.I have ever since been "paying it forward," educating high school and college level students, and now medical students. The greatest satisfaction is seeing my students get that "ah ha!" moment when everything comes together, and then seeing them go on to accomplish what they always thought was impossible.Now that I have some free time while doing research, I'm excited to give students that same confidence and mentorship that my tutors gave me.
