I believe that if a person finds his or her passion, then continuing education will always be fun and fulfilling. My desire is to help students find the joy in learning while expanding their minds. I have a Bachelor's of Education degree from the University of Cincinnati. I also have a Master's of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary and I am an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene. In addition, I hold multiple advanced TESOL and TEFL certifications and I have taught English as a second language for the last 3 1/2 years. I have experience teaching students ranging from age 2 through adults and have taught for more than 25 years in a variety of settings including the public classroom, homeschool co-operative classrooms, in church and other community settings and online. I enjoy teaching a wide-range of subjects but especially love English (including English as a second language), science, health, history, faith and religion. I would characterize my teaching style as creative, fun, flexible and adaptive. I believe each student is an individual with varying personalities, needs, likes, dislikes and learning styles. Thus, every class should be tailored to the particular student and trust and flexibility are key to a successful student/teacher relationship.
