Certified Tutor

I first started tutoring in high school when I would help fellow friends and students with the material. After leaving high school, I worked for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for two years where I taught multiple lessons everyday. I didn't teach the same curriculum but I gained invaluable teaching experience. My teaching philosophy is centered around helping each student understand the fundamentals of whatever subject they are studying so that the student will not just understand the material they are learning but will also learn how to understand other difficult material. For this reason, I love teaching mathematics and statistics. Both of these subjects have very concrete building blocks that need to be put in place in order to further build upon them. I will often find what foundation points a student is missing and help them understand that well. I also taught guitar and vocal lessons after I finished my work for the church. These are two of my favorite hobbies as well as yoyoing, origami, wakeboarding, and sports. I graduated from Snake River High School with a 4.0 and am currently attending BYU-Idaho. I am 2 years into getting my bachelor's degree in education. My goal is to not just be a tutor but a real friend.
