I am an M.S.Ed. student at the University of Pennsylvania in Education, Culture, and Society and I am passionate about education and community development. As an undergraduate, I triple-majored in Economics, American Studies, and Spanish at Tufts University. I spent the last four years living in Vina del mar, Chile where I taught English as a Foreign Language at a technical-professional university and tutored English and test prep in my free time.

I am a undergraduate math major and am passionate about helping students of all math levels succeed in their studies. I am quick in discovering students' learning strengths that will help them better understand their math material.
I'm Addie! I am currently a music education major working towards becoming a licensed music teacher. Even though I'm majoring in music education, I love helping with all subjects! My true passion is teaching - I love helping students get to that "aha" moment. I would love to help you overcome struggles or just get better at what you're already great at. I specialize in test preparation - I believe test taking strategies are half of the battle. Once we conquer those, you will be more than prepared. I look forward to working with you!

I'm not tutoring or buried in my textbooks, you will either find me rock climbing at the Triangle Rock Club, playing Ultimate Frisbee, working on my car, or enjoying the great outdoors (beaches, mountains, forests--you name it, I love it). In August, I will be starting a doctoral program in biostatistics at NYU. I was a teaching assistant at Columbia University in my department and also have tutored graduate students and undergraduates privately as well. My primary areas of tutoring are math and statistics coursework in addition to math sections on standardized tests such as the GRE and GMAT. I am very passionate about helping students feel more confident and excited about math. In my spare time, I enjoy running, playing piano, and spending time with friends and family.
I am a graduate of Wesleyan University, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with High Honors. With eight years of experience working in education, I've tutored students in math, science, history, and English, as well as helped students prepare for standardized tests. I've guided adults towards passing the US Citizenship Exam and taught English in India, where I lived for six months. Whenever I work with a student I personalize the lessons to fit their particular learning style, since I know every student is unique and having the right fit can make all the difference in making learning fun and effective. My strengths are tutoring the social sciences and humanities, as well as making math and standardized tests approachable to students that normally don't like those subjects. In my spare time I like traveling, spending time in the outdoors (climbing & backpacking), meditation, and playing soccer. Next fall I will be beginning my PhD in Education at Harvard University.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, Varsity Tutors connects students from across Bethlehem's five school districts with personalized tutoring support. Whether your student attends a school in the Bethlehem Area School District, Saucon Valley, Bangor, Nazareth, or Southern Lehigh, we match them with tutors who understand the local curriculum and Pennsylvania academic standards.
Personalized 1-on-1 instruction is particularly effective for helping students master Pennsylvania's standards because tutors can target exactly where your student struggles rather than moving at a whole-class pace. With Bethlehem's average student-teacher ratio of 12.4:1 in classrooms, tutoring provides that focused attention students need to close gaps in reading, math, science, and other core subjects aligned with state requirements.
During the first session, a tutor will assess your student's current level, understand their specific challenges, and learn about their goals—whether that's improving grades, preparing for standardized tests, or building confidence in a particular subject. The tutor will also review what your student is working on in their Bethlehem classroom to ensure tutoring directly supports their schoolwork.
Students for students in Bethlehem most frequently seek help with math (especially algebra and geometry), reading comprehension, and standardized test preparation including the SAT and ACT. We also support students in science, writing, and subject-specific help for AP and honors courses across Bethlehem's school districts.
Many students see improvement within the first few weeks of consistent personalized instruction, though the timeline depends on the subject and how far behind they are. Research on 1-on-1 tutoring shows it's one of the most effective interventions for academic growth, and tutors can quickly identify whether gaps are in foundational skills, study habits, or test-taking strategies and address them directly.
Varsity Tutors connects students with expert tutors who have strong backgrounds in their subject areas and experience working with students at various levels. Tutors are vetted for expertise and reliability, and they're matched based on your student's specific needs, learning style, and goals.
Varsity Tutors offers flexible pricing and scheduling options to fit your family's needs and budget. You can start with just a few sessions per week and adjust as needed, and pricing varies based on the tutor's expertise and your student's subject. We work with families to find a plan that makes sense for their situation.
Absolutely. Personalized SAT and ACT prep is highly effective because tutors focus on your student's specific weak areas rather than generic test prep—whether that's math concepts, reading strategy, or test anxiety. With the national SAT average around 1050 and ACT average around 21, targeted tutoring can help Bethlehem students significantly improve their scores and college prospects.
