I'm currently a nursing professional development practitioner at a local women's hospital. I absolutely love teaching and do miss the classroom. I work to guide students to the correct answer, not just give it to them. Nursing requires critical thinking and breaking down questions is the best way to develop these skills. NCLEX coaching, OB, pediatrics, pharmacology and fundamentals are my strongest subjects.

I am teaching and allow the student to be creative while learning. While teaching, I create an environment for learning by providing scenarios that could allow the student to solve a musical problem on their own. For example, I would compose a music piece on manuscript paper and challenge the student find the written error. It might be an incorrect time signature, key signature, missing rest, etc.

I am competent to tutor any discipline of mathematics, Geometry is hands-down my favorite by virtue of its visual nature and all the fun, practical applications with which it is associated, followed closely by Algebra I & II. I am a teacher because I enjoy helping children find success. I want my students to experience meaningful, interesting learning that applies to their lives. I believe that this can be accomplished through the use of hands-on/minds-on activities, cooperative learning, and integrated curriculum, and, when possible, technology and the internet.

I am currently working on my degree to teach High School Physics at WGU. I have worked with students of all ages to help them understand math and science better. I am a certified Texas Teacher. I have taught math in K-4 and in high school. I have also taught special education in these grades, as well. Reading and writing education are also on my list of strong points.
