I am an international student from Argentina studying Business at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Ever since I moved to the USA 5 years ago I have been tutoring students in both English and Spanish, depending on what their first language is. I really believe that education is essential to achieving a higher standard of living, and I work hard to instill this belief in each and every one of my students. In my spare time I love watching and playing soccer, listening to music and planning my future trips, as traveling is one of my biggest passions.

My name is Saintel Metelus, I am fluent in four languages : Haitian Creole, French, Spanish and English. I have a bachelor degree in languages from University of Massachusetts Lowell and a master degree in Education from Boston College.

I have been a practicing RN since 1978 working as a staff nurse, ICU nurse, head nurse/nurse manager, critical care coordinator and an acting VP of nursing. I have been teaching in nursing at the college level since 1993 and retired from teaching and active nursing in December 2020. I also authored "Fast Facts Workbook for Cardiac Dysrhythmias and 12 Lead EKGs" and was the subject matter expert for several editions of "Mosby's Pocket Guide to Nursing Skills & Procedures" by Potter and Perry. Although retired, I believe that I can still be of service by helping younger nurses reach their potential.

I enjoy learning and helping others to learn as well. I have lived several years in Europe to grow a deep understanding and appreciation for various languages, their cultures, and history. I also am adept in IT fields as I am pursuing a graduate degree in IT.

I was a program assistant and tutor for the Trio Progam at Middlesex Community College for 2 years. This program was for low-income and disability college students. I also was a TA in a math lab. I tutored Algebra 1 and 2, intermediate algebra, per-calculus and accounting.

Solving the world???s problems has always been pleasing to me, being able to put a smile on a person???s face by solving their problems is quite satisfying which is why I became a Math Tutor. As an individual, I alone cannot eradicate the problems that the world faces but this would definitely be a start. I recently graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a MS in Electrical Engineering. Before that, I attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute where I obtained a BS in Electrical & Computer Engineering. I currently work for an industry-leading designer and manufacturer of integrated circuits where I deal with radio-frequency communication devices for use in a broad array of applications.I specialize in teaching the areas of math, science and also some low-level computer programming topics. I have been involved with organizing and leading many review and study groups throughout college. I am passionate about finding the right method to help the student master their subject matter. My goal, outside of just helping someone with their material, is to develop strong problem-solving skills and habits that can be applied to their future work. I think my approachable communication style as well my desire to see their understanding 'click' with a student make me a great tutor.Outside of my full-time job and tutoring I enjoy golfing, snowboarding, playing guitar and hanging with my family and friends.
