I am currently a student studying English Education at Taylor University after graduating from Grapevine Faith Christian School in May 2015. In high school, I took a variety of AP, Honors, and Dual Credit classes. When I took the ACT, I received a perfect score on the English portion and scored very highly on the writing, reading, and science sections as well. Because I took the test so recently, I am very familiar with its format and can help students develop strategies to answer questions quickly and correctly. At Taylor, I am a member of the Honors program and will be enrolled in both English and education classes each semester.I have always had a love for all aspects of English--grammar, literature, writing, etc.--and truly have a passion for instilling that love in other students. As a college freshman, I have already completed a semester of classroom hours in local schools and am currently completing my second semester of teacher observation. These field experiences have reinforced my desire to teach and my love for helping students achieve their academic goals. In addition, I have gained real-world, hands-on experiences tutoring, teaching lessons, and performing other classroom duties with individual students, small groups, and entire classrooms. As a future teacher, one of my goals is to make sure that each student realizes how valuable he or she is and recognizes his or her potential to learn. I truly believe that every student is capable of reaching his or her personal academic goals, and while those goals can and will look different for each student, I am prepared to tailor my tutoring style to each individual's strengths and weaknesses.

Learning can be challenging! I can help! I specialize in psychology, statistics, business stats, and the Microsoft office suit. For me tutoring is about more than just getting a specific outcome for a student. I want to help students grow as individual and build learning skills that they can apply in their own lives. I have a BA in Psychology and MS in Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
I am a 2014 graduate of Taylor University. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, with minors in biology and chemistry. I did this with the goal of attending medical school. Upon graduating college, I worked full-time as a math tutor in the inner city of Chicago. After this excellent opportunity, I attended medical school at Rosalind Franklin University, where I am currently in my fourth year. Throughout my time in medical school, I have been active in tutoring students in a wide variety of subjects. Therefore, I bring around ten years worth of tutoring experience. Through tutoring everything from English composition to general chemistry, I have fostered a skill of working with individuals to help them understand a wide variety of concepts. I am passionate about meeting students where they are, and working through concepts that they may have a difficult time understanding. As a student of the sciences, I enjoy working with individuals on biology and chemistry. Additionally, I enjoy assisting individuals in the writing process, having experience working at the Taylor University Writing Center. In my spare time, I enjoy listening to music, running and following Chicago sports, particularly the Chicago Bulls and Cubs.
I recently graduated summa cum laud from Taylor University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Philosophy. While there I tutored philosophy, political science, and religious studies students for two years. I am currently working on a Master of Arts in Philosophy at Georgia State University, where I serve as a teaching assistant and writing consultant. I currently tutor in the areas of test preparation, government, philosophy, and religious studies. My passion for education stems from the joy I find in helping students achieve their goals. My teaching style involves asking lots of strategic questions to help students discover answers for themselves, a process which my students typically find quite empowering. Still, I recognize that each student has unique needs, questions, and learning styles, so I strive to listen first and then craft individualized plans to meet each student's particular objectives. In my spare time I like to get outside hiking, playing soccer, or volunteering at my church's community garden. I also enjoy reading, watching football, and cooking.
I graduated from Taylor University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Creative Writing. I am currently a student at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and working toward a Master's in Counseling and School Personnel Psychology. I have worked with students in varies capacities, such as daycare facilities, summer school programs, and school environments. These settings have given me the opportunity to experience working with students from various cultures and backgrounds. The students I have worked with range in grade levels from elementary school all the way through college. I tutor in English, Art, Phonics, Reading, Social Studies, Social Sciences, Writing, essay editing, some test prep, and, of course, Psychology. I feel that my strengths lie in the areas of Psychology, Writing, Reading, and Essay Editing. I am passionate about enabling and empowering students within the realm of education (hence my current course of study) and can see this translating into every tutoring session. I want to make the tutor-tutee relationship a positive, educational, and fun one. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, writing, photography, biking, cooking and baking, and listening to and playing music.
As a tutor, I desire to inspire a love of learning, specifically in the subjects of History and English. Through my personal passion for education, I wish to educate others and to walk alongside students in their personal educational journey.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing, summa cum laude honors, from Taylor University, a #1 ranked liberal arts college. I'm a gifted writer and have taken coursework spanning marketing, sociology, anthropology, communications, history, and literature. I discovered that I loved tutoring when I began helping friends review for tests in history and proofreading essays and papers. Tutoring is fun for me because I love to see when someone can engage a new idea and make connections with broader psychological, historical, and political themes, all while gaining an appreciation for a new subject. When I'm not tutoring, I'm working as an Assistant Coach for Evans Rowing Club. Coaching is simply tutoring that allows me to be out on the river! I love helping my athletes learn new skills and techniques while building the mental toughness they need to succeed.I'm a bit of a nerd, and my sisters make fun of me for listening to podcasts on economics, politics, theology, and psychology. I don't only like nerdy subjects, though - I'm obsessed with the Office Ladies podcast and anything "The Office". I might make an Office reference during a tutoring session, so we'll be a great fit if you have a good sense of humor!
I studied at Taylor University (in Upland, IN) where I received a Bachelor's degree in Spanish and International Business. During my time there, I had the privilege of studying abroad for a semester in Seville, Spain, where I became fluent in Spanish and was also able to travel to Portugal and Switzerland. I worked as a tutor at my university for both Spanish and Business classes, and I also volunteered as an ESL tutor in the community. While I tutor several subjects (English, ESL, math, Spanish), I enjoy Spanish the most. I love languages, particularly Spanish, so I enjoy helping students understand it better. I strive to present the material in a way that makes most sense to each student depending on his or her learning style and ability. I played volleyball for two years in college, so I enjoy being active. Outside of tutoring, I also enjoy playing the piano, playing games with friends and family, traveling, and cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals.

I grew up in Ukraine and moved to the US in 2018. I've been working as a one-on-one instructional aid and as a tutor for about five years. I have my Bachelor's in Educational Studies and I'm working on my Masters and Licensure as an Interventionist. I lean a bit Montessori in my teaching style, building my lessons around exploration and rich experiences. I'm neurodivergent and a third-culture kid. I know firsthand how intimidating school and academics can be for kids who are like me. I'm willing to implement creative learning or unconventional learning solutions if they yield good results. I love teaching math and reading very much. Both require a lot of hidden cognitive skills that most of us don't think twice about. I love diving into those skills and figuring out just what part we need to practice to get my student thinking critically and solving problems!
